Pre-workout meal dilema

Ok, as some of you might recall, I'm taking two summer classes that go from 8 am till 1:15. Then I workout after class. The problem is I get up at 6:30 and eat like 2 to 3 bowls of cheerios and then I'm off to class. The past week I've just been eating two granola bar things right after class (1:15) and then go workout. As you can probably guess....I just don't have the energy and strength I should. The other day I had a break so I hit up Burger King and ate two cheeseburgers at about 12:30, took another test, and then worked out about 2. I had more strength than I have had since I started this summer workout...my lifts were up 10-20 lbs.

My questions are.....
How much time should there be between your pre-workout meal and the time you actually start lifting?

Is their anything I could carry around at room temperature that I could eat so I don't have to eat from the fast food places?

What should this meal consist of: high carbs? how much protein?

bro,

if your trying to grow your going to need a hell of a lot more nutrition than what you are currently getting...i'd say 10 bowls of cheerios wouldnt do the trick...you need some protein rite when you wake up in the morning and some carbs to get some energy in your rite away (depending on cutting or bulking with the carbs) but protein always kept high..

i usually eat some carbs rite be4 i workout and then around 20-25g's of protein and then do my usual worout and then after my workout have a 50 gram shake (made by nlarge2)

hope that helps,

I eat JUST before I hit the gym...maybe 10-20 minutes before I train. I spend about 10 minutes stretching and warming up too. I love oatmeal with honey mixed in!!!!
