Pre and Post workout. Lets talk nutrition, around 1hr before and after.

Yup....I'm an idiot......I only saw one post for meals, and missed your first sentance.......BUT, I also have read there are better routes than the ol' fashined grape juice...hows it work for ya?

1pm- chicken, rice, salad, milk
5pm- 1 scoop whey, banana, 5g creatine, 200mg r-ala
5.30pm- train
6.30pm- 2 scoops whey, 2 scoops gatorade, 5g creatine
7.30pm- steak, potato, salad
 
I eat no carbs all da, then 1/2 hour pre workout I eat 1 apple (~20 grams of carb). Train for 1 hour. 15 minutes before completion I pop 300mg of r-ALA, once training is done I pound back 10 grams of EnerG, dextrose and protein. 2 hours later eat another meal in solids.
 
This is a fantastic thread and one which I will continue to read with great interest.I am completely clueless as to what the best pre and post work out shakes are. In addition I am virtually terrified of using sugars like dextrose as my former fat ass self has it in my mind that they will make me fat. Here is a pretty cool link that talks alot about the use of dextrose and maltodextrin. There are other links buried in it that go on to explain may things. Hopefully its helpful to someone. I for one will be trying to digest it.

its jsut convenient and a quick glyco loader..what else would you suggest..im always open for suggestions
 
This is how I do it.

Breakfast 2 hours prio
100g oats, 50g Whey, 20g peanuts
2 t-rex

30 minutes prio training
10g Glutamine Peptides
25g Whey
3 Levorex

1 hour workout
30 minutes home

Then 65g carbs from masched potatoes
30g protein from Whey

1 hour later
100g rice, 300g chicken + 30g whey protein, some peanuts to this

Then a meal every 2½ hours

No, it's all good bro...I've used it when I dont have glucose......also have tried powerade and gatordade ....who knows what works best.....

You guys tried ANPB, cottage cheese, some splenda and a little skim? Mix it and toss it in the freezer for awhile....preworkout.......nice f-ing treat and change of pace.


I think we need a thread on Pre-BED nutition....Mav - can we add that too???
 
Orrr.............what if you train and say you finish 2 hours before bed???? Do you still have a shake AND a meal? Maybe a meal 5 minutes before bed???

i would take my normal post workout meal routine but i would be very careful about how much fat i eat..remember if you really are getting that insulin spike its anabolic to fat cells as well..my fat intake is low immediately after and the meal i eat 2 hours later..i really should test my bgl my whole family is diabetic i got a machine at my disposal too
