So your saying start doing cardio now and cut some carbs and UP THE PROTEIN ALOT. Even though I compete in late Feburary and early March until about April that's the last meet it might even be May I can't remember.

If this is so then how many times a week cardio what time in the day and for how long and how intense???? Won't I lose strength doing cardio????

SSHoooot I havn't done any cardio in a good 3-4 weeks not even jump rope or even hit the speed bag.
 
Basically hit cardio 3 to 4 day sa week 20 to 30 minutes. Make your self sweat. Or just cut calories. My point was to just become a hard rock solid 165lbs and even if your lean become lean enough to weigh 165 and full of water and muscles ful of blood. Dont be depleted. If i wanted to be 220 all the time after dinner every night i would have to lose fat. See my point. Become 165! How you do it is up to you. It sonly 8 lbs.

So I can go ahead and do cardio 3-4 times a week and not lose strength. So if I did cardio for about 20 minutes or 30 minutes in the morning on the same days I lift this wouldn't mess me up or anything on my lifts. Like early mon, tue, thur, fri morning so I can rest on my rest days instead of doing cardio.
 
Cubanito do the cardio. If you feel weaker cut back. But you aint gonna lose strength. At least not in the tim eit takes to lose 7 lbs. Drop your carbs a little bit but up your protein to make up th edifference. You will be fine.

Mass phase. Number 1 rule eat every 2 hrs. But eat a shit load of protein. But an extreme way i tried and worked for me is i ate breakfast in the morning before work, just cereal toast in eggs whatever that is at 6:30 am, then at 7:30 i eat a snickers and some gatorade. At 9:00 snickers in gatorade. 12 noon buffett. Chicken n potatoes and tons of shit. then at 1:30 3:00 and 4:30 snickers and gatorade. 5:00 i train, eat huge dinner at 7:30 then at 10: protein shake n yogurt. I only did this for 1 month. I started end of aug 2000 weighed in at 215lbs then 4 weeks later and 20lbs on the bench later i was 230lbs. But even without that i eat every 2 hrs or so. Period. if your not hungry drink your calories. Drink whole milk. Lots. Train hard also. Right now i am over 250lbs and i actually eat less now then back then. But after my Jan meet i am going to weigh in the 260's with the snicker diet! Hey it works for me.
 
I forgot something. You smaller guys with smaller apettites may have trouble eating like that. A friend of mine who used this method got excellent result in size and strength he didnt like eating so much so i told him to mix milk and cut up snickers in th eblender. If your going to work and you need 5 snickers through the day, mix it up and drink em. He used a empty 1/2 gallon milk jug. Add protein powder be inventive. You will get great full calories and ittaste good too. Good luck!
 
Damn that mass diet sounds like something I'D LOVE TO DO. And bout the strength I'll try it out and see what works for me if I feel I'm not gaining like I was then I'll cut back on cardio some. Now when you say cut back on carbs what's the minimum amount of carbs a day I can eat without losing that energy at a 173lb bodyweight(it just keeps gaining).
 
One way to gage your diet is eat your grams a day in protein and double in carbs. Say you cut down to 1 1/2 grams per body=weight then take the 1/2 you cut in carbs and add to the protein. So then you would eat 1 1/2 x your bodyweight in protein and carbs. You need normally 175grams a day of protein, 300grams of carbs and fuck the fat eat what you want! Unless you start getting fat. Hope this helped you some.
 
K let me see if I understand this. Eat 1 1/2 times my body weight And this should consist of 1g of protein per lb and 1.5g of carbs per lb. And fuck whatever for the fat. Is this right, hope not b/c I understood it this way and it doesn't make sense to me to eat more carbs then protein :confused:
 
How about I just eat the steak, hamburgers, eggs, turkey, chicken, protein shakes, whole wheat bread, oats, almonds, peanuts and the other stuff I was gonna eat?


Too funny to hear that Snickers and gatorade are your secret.
