Possibly World's Strongest Man In The Near Future...?

its pretty old but always worth another watch.

I am shorter then this dude and deff have more lbm and i am older. yet he lifts so much more fucking weight then me lol. its just insane.

Yeah I've seen this many times this guy is an animal. That gym which is in las vegas is just full of insanely strong lifters. The thing is he is an olympic lifter too haha

I was just telling gladiator about this kid the other day, absolutely amazing strength. The Snatch and Clean are unbelievable!

What's really crazy was that someones asked the kid if his bench has gone up since the vid.

He said he only did 2 bench sessions before the vid and hadn't benched since.

Considering the kids sloppy bench technique I actually believe that which makes it all the more impressive how he handled those bench weights!

I remember reading somewhere how it was said the great russian olympic weightlifter Vasily Alexeev could easily bench press 600lbs and there were people that were saying no way he could bench 600.

You'd have to be a fucking retard to think a guy that could standing press 500lbs couldn't bench 600...

hes strong but he'll never be WSM, that requires athleticism - something he does not possess. Hell do well in powerlifting/olympics. Tendons and ligaments will most likely give out before he is able to do anything with his talent

how could u tell if he is athletic or not?

A weightlifter would be one of the absolute best candidates for transitioning to strongman.

Weightlifting requires excellent flexibility, explosive power and balance.

Throw in conditioning and BAM!

So not quite sure what you were getting at...

I dont think he competes in a chosen discipline. Granted his cleans etc are strong but squat he bounces out of the hole as if he were plastic man, 500lb bench, and 730 deadlift for 4 reps utilizing ground..

I agree, I dont think you could do WSM without having a weightlifting background....

are you actually critiquing the guy???
honestly you have no clue then how weightlifting works. The point of accelerating quickly into and out of the deep positions is to generate a massive myotatic stretch reflex response. It is actually MORE impressive to handle the weight with so much speed because the transitional load heavier as they are being accelerated downward by gravity.
The guy is an absolute monster. Possibly the most impressive lifter that has ever lived considering his age.

Well stated....

At the earlier post, I honestly dont see how you can judge his athleticism based on the videos. That kid with the right conditioning could do amazing things.

I find squatting in this manner in no way makes it harder, the stretch reflex is greater but I fail to see how this would make a lift harder? Even attempting this technique makes heavier loads seem easier, its a technique lifters of the ABG seem to employ.
He could not squat the weights used in the video at a relatively controlled pace as opposed to that in his videos.

Jón Páll Sigmarsson, Kevin Nee, Jesse Marunde, Žydrūnas Savickas, the list goes on. They were all impressive lifters in their early 20s. To say this guy is the most impressive lifter ever is a far cry, to my understanding he has not competed to prove himself.
To say he might be the most impressive at snatch considering his age is more appropriate.
