Please critique this video of my DE squats.

Have a look at this video and tear it apart. Let me know what I'm doing wrong and how to improve. Be brutal. I know I need tons of work.

I was using 240, which is approx. 50% of my max. As you can see, I am not using a proper box because I dont have one here at school. This bench is the best thing I can use in the gym.

Here are my thoughts:
-too slow.
-not sitting back enough.

Please let me know what you think.

You definitly need to sit back more. You are basically just doing a touch and go off the bench. You need to sit back farther, relax your hips for a second and explode back up. You knees appeared to be over your toes, not good... You want to sit back till your shins are past parallel.. Also, move your stance out wider. You had plenty of speed though IMO..

That said I really need to get some video of me for everyone to tear apart.. It's difficult for you to see what youre doing wrong, but easy for others.... And there's plenty of expericed people on this board to learn from.

Thanks for the tips. I'll work on sitting back more and pausing longer.

also, move your stance out wider.
Unfortunately, that is the widest rack at the gym and my feet are touching the bottom supports.
 
Ahh, understood about the rack width... Really from that angle it is hard to tell just how wide u were, but I didn't think you were out to the supports.. So you were wider than I thought. I started Westside back in June this year and still have a lot of room to improve on for... Its like fix one area and something else goes arry...lol

Yeah, its a bad angle, but the best I could do without the camera getting in people way.

by the way, where in AL are you from?
 
its funny, I work on computers for a living and I am the only dumb fuck who can never see your videos, all I see in a blank screen running.

If that is the power rack at the Rec, it is way too narrow. I think
it was the cheapest one they could find for the place. We really
had to push them just to get that one. Before that I used to
box squat in the stand with the begs off of a bench.

You are not sitting back in your video, but it may be difficult in
that rack. I suggest getting some hooks/pegs to stick in the
outside supports of the rack so you can squat outside the rack.
