What do the other parents who have successfully parented teen to the point of young adulthood say?

she's responding well to it. ofcourse i posted the short version of it.

and this is just one technique of many.

but i told myself and the wifey that what is really the point of giving her something to do, walking away, and then getting into it with our daughter because were not satisfied. we just end up jumping her shit almost on a daily basis. and thats too much for a young kid. so it accomplishes a few things to just help her and spend the time with her, plus she see's how detailed i am in the process, and hopefully picks up on that and does the same.

but for me the most important part is were not going to have a fight if she doesnt do it right.

and its really our fault because we did that from day one, giving her something to do and not helping her.

Excellent outlook. One of my faults was that I worked way to much when she was younger. That's what you do as an apprentice, but it cost us closeness.

yea it sucks for me, because lately(past 4 months) ive been working 7/12's on nights. i definitely see a difference in the kids general behavior.
