why do they show the shots of people jumping from the towers?

that was the most tasteless thing i have ever seen in my life... absolutely heartless... people at home have to look at that and wonder if that was their family member...

I totally agree madbitchboy! Dude I am all about gore and shit but that was just to real for me to deal with. It was just hard to believe they would show something like that. It did make me kind of sick and I love Rotten.com/It was wrong.

I saw footage of someone jumping last night. My friend and I agreed that they went too far when they showed it. It wasn't live so there was no excuse. This is hard enough for people to deal with without actually seeing people fall to their deaths.

It's life baby, people have to know what sort of things happen when situations like this occur.

I must say, I do agree with you on that one, when I was watching your CNN news and they showed the shot of people diving to their deaths I was absolutely sickened and sad, I had no warning it was going to come on, if so, I probably wouldn't have looked, but I couldn't get my eyes off the screen. I wish I never saw it.

This morning I opened the paper, what did I see? People plunging to their deaths, it's terrible, somethings they just shouldnt show.

The should show it all!!!! Other than the fact that it is harsh on the families of the victims, this shit really happened and is happening to our fellow countrymen!!! It should not be censored!!

I think showing it just makes it hit each and every person that much harder. By seeing this, people will realize the severity of what happened, and hopefully, they will feel the need to take every step possible to make things right again.

Even though I hate watching that myself (because it was horrible), I totally agree with them showing it. I think America has gotten to the point where they are 'immune' to certain things such as images, pictures, etc. This is almost needed to just make an 'impact'...

My thoughts....Why is it that we Americans want to exclude some aspects of life and live
in denial? Every time I see pictures and clips of those poor helpless people falling to their
deaths brings me close to tears. Unfortunately this happened and we cannot change the
facts....it's a tragedy of immense proportions that
will scar every decent human being on the face of the earth for years to come. It will
change us as a society globally. And may the people and countries that did/aid and abed
these
fanatics die. But a fact remains...it happened. ALL events must be shown. Excluding and
choosing bits and pieces of footage is saying that those events never took place. These
events are a new bread to the American soil. Most European countries
have suffered terrorism for decades and got used to the fact of seeing people blown up or
fragments of body parts lying on the streets. I was born and raised in Italy -my mother is
still there- and I've seen the disaster of Tripoli, the shooting of Aldo Moro, the bombing of
the Bologna train station, the bombing of Rome and Milan Uffizzi museum. And as an
educated person I wanted to know how my country and country men were directly
affected by the events...any one remember the persecution of the Jews? Although
tragic and devastating the events should be aired. I'm not saying to put on "loop" the horrific
shots of people falling through the sky, I'm only saying that people should be aware of the
consequences, devastation and choices people had to make while literally hanging for
their lives 100 stories high. This is not Hollywood it's reality!!!

Bump for NightFly

I totally agree with you NightFly. I think we need to see what these terrorists did to us instead of turning our back on it. That would be totally unfair. What we saw in the pictures and videos is nothing compared to what the victims went through. Afterall, it is REALITY.

SLICEDBEEF:(

Not to be funny or anything but I’d rather see the people jumping than landing. I’m sure the media has taped some terrible things that they haven’t aired.

The media will be showing everything to continue stirring up sentiment towards War-as they've been directed to. Same as when WWII generation watched emaciated humans peering out from behind barbed wire in German camps. Sometimes, people need to see the consequences of evil actions, and to try and take this heinous attack on our country and wrap it up in a clean pretty package would just be wrong.
Life is dirty-War is hell. All the images are appropriate., and the onlyAmericans complaining about it are the ones who've never suffered through a war and have enjoyed the benefits of our fathers and grandfathers sacrifices so they can live free.Political correctness is coming to an end for awhile kids.

When they were showing it live I was having lunch with a Cousin and neither of us could finish our lunch when a Camera showed a lady fall at least 80 floors until about 6 feet above the ground...Some things just dont need to be shown, and that was one of them

I agree it hurts--just like hearing about those guys on the plane that said they were going to do something after telling their loved one's goodbye--it just hurts...But I think we need to know the full horror so that when people start to wonder if our response (hopefully) is way too savage, they can remember those words and those images and know that no horror can replace what those poor souls suffered through...

they are trying to make the public even more resentful than they alreay are i guess.....the more outrage there is the bigger their ratings

they woudlnt show impact of the dead but it still made me so sad when i saw that person jump...

At least they didn't show them when they landed. People need to see what really happened. You cannot "sugar coat" this type of incident. I'm sure that there are some worse photos out there that haven't been shown, like pictures of body parts lying around.

It Should be shown for the most part with warnings for parents.
IMO, It's part 1st Amendment rights and part Ratings and $.
Soceity will let it be known when they go too far...

There are much worse shots, that have not been shown and may never be shown, I have a friend that was on the 61st floor of the second tower that was hit, he got out before his building was hit. Another friend was three blocks away and felt his building (Battery Place) shake from the second crash. Both of these people got out unhurt, and I have talked to them on the phone and what you have seen on the news is "nothing."

I am not saying you should show everything, but hearing from them and what they saw, doesn't compare to what the media has shown, and I am not saying they should show it all.
