one body part/week 4 newbies??????

I have been training for 3 years now and I made excellent progress in last year training each body part once per week.
A friend of mine just started working out, and he is pretty skinny.
He is not going to be lifting much weight at first, so i am guessing his recovery will be much quicker than mine...and he will be slowed down if he trains each body part once per week with me.

My question is if anyone was doing one body part per week
when they started training and if they progressed quickly?

I did and made great gains....you definately don't want to overtrain him. Just make sure he has intensity in his workouts....

He will get a lot sorer than you since you are used to the training. Thik about it if you take a few months off and then try to lift even at medium intensity you are much more sore than you used to be. So if this person doesn't train with weights he's gonna be sore longer than you usually. Once a week is fine make sure to stress proper form.

Given the fact that strength gains during the first 1-2 months a person starts training are almost entirely due to increased neuro-efficiency, it would be better to start him on a 3x per week full body regimen.
