Olive oil question

Hi everyone!

I have a friend who is preparing to compete this year, his trainer included in his diet for every meal olive oil. He has to take one tablespoon and has to increase one tablespoon in each meal, up to five for the fifth meal.

He is in deca cycle. But we are wondering why is it necessary to take so many olive oil (15 tbspoon per day). Is this a special thing? He does need to gain some muscle mass, but it makes no sense why so much of that.

Any insights?

olive oil is a good healthy fat. 15 tablespoons is like 1700 cals a day...

So if his trainer feels he needs that many cals (4000 I would say) and the rest of his cals are all carbs and protein with very, very little fat.. then it's possible that might be an easy way to get the cals in.

Not the best or most logical way though, imo. but what do I know.

15tbsp is an excessive amount..if he is a hard gainer he may need the extra cals, but in my opinion he should be upping his carbs rather than taking in 3000 ounces of any type of oil..
