Ok guys how much do you DB military and how much do you weigh?

gawd damn it..im 220, and i cant handle more than the 60 pounds db on my last set...never seen anybody in my gym lift more either..shit

I am not too strong shoulder wise after all after seeing da big thinker and a few others strength. Damn! I weigh around 215 lbs. and usually behind neck press maybe 155-165 lbs. and use maybe 60-70 lbs. for seated dumbbell presses. Ive never made it up to the 80s. :o

Just remember that your shoulders get worked when you do back or chest. Doing heavy weights with shoulder exercises could end up getting you a torn rotator cuff or giving you chronic shoulder pain later on in life.

thats a pretty lame excuse bro no offense but you could get hit by a car today also but your still gonna drive everywere you go.

da big thinker i've always had good shoulder strength...but after a rotator injury that took 7 months to heal...i am back up to my 140 pounders...i weight 225 lbs.

Just a question if you use the 140s which I have seen done before it was by a guy who outweighed you by 75# how much do you military press with a bar. The weight is normally more. and lastly how tall are you. Not trying to sound like I dont believe you, I am pretty strong in the shoulders myself as I stated before I weight 200 and use the 100s but that is just a massive amount of weight.

guess they would hate me then..........

i normally work with about 70-75, depends on how my diet is going. (lately...its getting tougher to go heavy)

ive done 95 for 6 BUT.... as GK said. its all in the form. now i will do them either unsupported on a bench or seated but sloooow. at times even an arnold press real slow. only using about 50 lbs for 10.

try hitting db presses unsupported (ie no back support) and sit straight up press straight overhead. no arch in your back. cuts the weight in half at LEAST! all delts though.
im 5 9 170 9%.
military press.....still around 185 for a few.

i'd rather be dead,

i take my comments back...bro.sorry about that!

abbadon,

i'd be lying if i told you...i haven't done them w/ bar for awhile...i get a better stretch at the bottom and get that neutral grip at the top...i've done 2-3 reps w/ 3 plates(approx 315 lbs) b4 my injury...i just choose db's now...for some reason, the str8 bar makes me shit in my pants...

According to JV Askem, there is a simple method for bringing up your OH press: simply do a few sets of 5reps working up to a max, but do them as 3 strict presses and 2 push presses. I tried it and brought my max OH press from 95x11 to 155x5 in 16 workouts using this technique...

(Note: I use the 75's only on my last set, and yes, I do use a spotter.)

Back when I was at my strongest, when all I focused on was functional strength and before I got into body building I would do behind the neck presses (barbell) at 235 for like 4 or 5 sets of 3-5.
