Oatmeal

Out of curiosity, what brand of oatmeal do you guys use? Also, where do you get it from? I had very good turnout for my yogurt thread ;) and I thought Id throw this out to. Oatmeal is about the last missing link in my diet, and Im just wondering what you guys use as a reference for something I can incorporate into mine. Thanks!

Quaker. Just the regular oats, not the instant ones. I would like to look more into steel cut oats and all the variations, so looking forward to reading others' thoughts. Except Pintoca - he smells.

I use Quaker large flaked oats.

The nutritional value of oatmeal will be virtually the same regardless of whether the oats are rolled, steel-cut, pulverised, jumed-up and down on and so on. The glycemic index, however, will be lower for the larger flaked variety. The only other difference will be in cooking times and texture.

Except Pintoca - he smells.
That's just a rumour :D

Bob's Red Mill 5 grain rolled hot cereal w/flax is a great alternative. For 1/3 cup dry it's~ 120 cals. Bob's Oat bran is also an option found at any GNC.Or Mcann's steel cut.
