NORML to sponsor new Marijuana Truth Ads

LivinLarger said:

I hope so, those Anti-weed commercials they have been running are retarded beyond comprehention.

Yeah, they are a bunch of crap. I especially like the one where the guy smokes with the girl and then proceeds to sex her up. You can hear her wimpering a "no" and he goes "sshhhhh".

Right. Well that's just great. Now they are bent on saying cannabis will turn you into a rapist. For fucks sake stop the insanity.

No doubt, sad part is this shit is payed for with our own damn money. I'd like to know who the assclown is that approved those commercials for airplay.

Or the lame ass commercial where the guys are in the drive-thru and end up hitting a little girl... Not only is it lame to begin with, but how many sidewalks do you see in front of drive-thrus at restaurants in real life...NONE.

Well 2 reasons:

1. they get paid to air ads. So this is a paying customer requesting and paying for their air time. when compared alcohol and cigarettes.

No one will air them and risk losing more legitimate (and more recurring) sponsors.

If NORML wanted to show some real truth they would show that drug use supports police officers', lawyers, judges, departments of government, counselors, prisons, etc. Without the War on Drugs, these people would not have jobs.

But CODE is probably right, few stations will likely air this, which shows how effective propaganda can be.

damn near every city in the us has an "alternative" free weekly paper. In indy, it is "Nuvo," but every other city i have been to had a similar publication.

Not only would these papers print the adds, they would probably write stories which detailed the debate, too.

Some radio stations would air adds, too. Not all, but some.

Not even that... did you see the inside of the car? It looked like the fucking place was on fire. How many people smoke weed in THE CAR in BROAD DAYLIGHT with the WINDOWS UP? Makes you wonder who is really smoked up.

How would you classify an alcohol ad?

Alcohol is a legitimate industry, so they would be legitimate.
Weed is not legitimate and therefore would be an advertisement regarding an illegal activity.

Do you see ads putting other felnoy activities like rape or theft in a positive light?

It really should be legalized. There is nothing in weed that makes it addictive... all you gotta worry about is the THC... but who the hell cares about that.
