Noob question: Chicken Tenderness

NJL52

New member
So..I'm a complete beginner to cooking. My greatest culinary creation to date is oatmeal in the microwave.

And I've gotten to the point where I am too lean to lose any more bodyfat without eating perfectly.

But God do I hate what I eat. Take a chicken cutlet from the freezer, throw it in the oven and cook at 350 for 25 minutes.

Comes out with an awful chewyness(forgive my lack of a better adjective, don't know much about food description).

So my question is, how do I go about making chicken that comes out wonderfully tender like you would receive in a restaurant? What is the secret(or standard routine that I'm just not aware of.)

Thanks.

Meat is more tender if you let it completely thaw before cooking it. If you cook it in the oven straight from the freezer or even if its half-frozen it will be rough when its done cooking.

Anabolic Kitchen - Cooking for Bodybuilding

Its 20 bucks when you use the code. Its not just a recipe book. It teaches you how to cook step by step with every tip you can think of. Its geared for people like us bro. I swear you will be cooking like a pro.

I was a chef for 13+ years as well as a cook in the army where I had to train complete retards how to cook. I took all this and applied it to cooking for the body builder.

But yes cooking any meat from frozen will make it hard. If you have to thaw meat fast put it in a bowl and run warm water over it. Make sure the water is always running into the bowl and out of the bowl with a constant flow.

Thaw it first. Placing it in a bowl of hot tap water will speed up the process. I like to sear mine in the skillet 3min on each side and then cook in the oven @ 350f for 25-30min. All ovens are different so you will need to experiment to see the ideal cook time.

get one of those georgeforman grills, i eat so much chicken 99% of the time its plain not even marinated or seasoned

thats what i just did. pounded the chicken breast and put it on the george foreman grill. i bought a rice cooker and cooked 2 cups of rice. after the rice cooked i added 6 breasts cubed up and a bag of steamed vegtables. ill add to it whatever i feel like for taste when i reheat. soy, salsa or whatever.
