hi guys,
im new to the boards and weight lifting. im 20 six feet and weigh 160. i work out about 5 times a week, trying to gain weight. thinkin bout takin weight gainer or something. i took creatine for a while but it didnt really do anything so i stopped. i can lift the same amount of wieght but i think i lost some muscle since i stopped using creatine. any advice for a noob.

Here are some simple rules to follow:

1. Train 4 days per week. . . no more (no more than 1 hour)
2. Rest (get at least 8 hours of sleep)
3. Eat huge!! Stay away from sugary foods (cakes, donuts, etc)
4. Drink as much water as possible

- Training should involve heavy basic compound movements:

Squats
Deadlifts
Powercleans
Bench Presses (Inclines, close grip)
Barbell Rows
Chins
Military Presses (standing or seated)
Up Right Rows
Parallel Dips
Barbell Curls

Food (Carbohydrates should include majority of caloric intake)

Carbohydrates:

potatoes, rice, Pasta, breads, bagels, oatmeal, and other Fresh fruits and vegetables.

Proteins:

eggs, chicken, lean red meat, skim milk, low fat peanut butter, and fresh fish

Most of all keep everything simple. . .there is no need to spend bundles of money when you can prepare easy meals. Save yourself some money. Go out and purchase a George Foreman Grill.

Most of all a positive attitude and dedication will take you far. Good luck!

Welcome to the boards! :wavey:

You grow when you're recovering, not while you're training...so make sure you're getting lots of rest and letting the muscles heal before you rip them again.

Creatine does not build muscle. If you were expecting it to, then that's why it "didn't work." All creatine does is make a better situation for P to bond with ADP to make more ATP, so you can work out longer and harder....and THAT is what builds muscle (or at least allows you to rip the hell out of them so they can heal and grow).

At any rate, I don't use creatine either. The last thing I need is more energy. Especially at the price of 10 pounds of bloat.

Welcome Goku!!!!

im really vegita in disguise, ( but dont tell Lord Suston) lol

anyways, these guys are right, Chew Attack!!! just like Goku does.

but these guys tell the truth, dont train as much as you think you need to, and eat more than you want too.

X
