Hi, I was wanting some advice I am 26 years old and I am female, I weigh 124 pounds and am 5'5. I need some fitness tips, I have had a problem with cellulite my whole life on my thighs, My question is what kind of exercises can I do to help this, I also want help from people who have had the same problem to give me there advice for this problem, I would also like help with building muscle as well, I am not very toned, only in my arms, I had a baby 3 years ago if this helps also. any help would be appreciated. I do not go to a gym I do not have one in my town, I do have weights and a bench and a rowing machine and a stair climber. If you need more info let me know.

You might want to post this on the female board as well (if you havent already), there are a lot of females over there that really know their stuff.
I dont have much experience training females so I don't have much advice to offer, this would be a good question for spatts

For cellulite, you can attack 1) revising your diet 2) drinking at least 3-5 liters water per day 3) exercising regularly.
You say you don't go to a gym... do you exercise anyway? do you perform any sport? A suggestion for at home working out is squating! you can try doing them with weights, if you don't go to a gym maybe you can buy some dumbells and start doing squats and taking the dumbells at your shoulder level. Also you can try working on the hamstrings, you may look for something to add weight to your toes and raise them while standing... as if it was inverse leg curl.

To get rid of the cellulite you will have to drop your bodyfat. I would be doing lower intensity cardio at least 3 times a week, no more than 5. And train with weights at least twice a week, no more than 4 times. Diet is always key to attaining a good physique and that is gonna be the main thing you will want to work on. I would go with what needsize said though and also post this on the womens board.

Yep, yep. Cellulite requires fat loss, and fat loss is mostly about diet. YOU CAN'T TARGET BURN BODY FAT. So, no, there are no exercises that I can tell you that would help you specifically lose leg fat. Your body gives it up when and where it chooses. The best things to do are to eat clean, lift heavy (muscle burns more cals/fat 24/7), and get a reasonable amount of cardiovascular exericse...more to benefit the heart muscle than anything else.

Check out the women's board.

Here's my basic fat loss run down:

Weights alternating heavy one week and moderate the next, for example:

Monday: legs
Tusday: back and rear delt
Wednesday: off
Thursday: Chest and tri's
Friday: shoulders and bis
Saturday: abs

On, for example Thursday, do shoulders light and bis heavy (start with the heavy) and then the next week shoulders heavy and bi's light. Heavy being about 90% of max and light being about 60% of max.

Cardio 5-7 days a week max (start with 3 non-training days) first thing in the morning, empty stomach, OR AFTER WEIGHTS. Moderate intensity, moderate speed, longer duration: walk up hill at 15% grade, 2.5 mph, for 60 min...point being, keep the heart rate between 135-140. I added a second cardio session in the evenings, 20-30 min, and straight protein after that, but only if one session and a clean diet aren't cutting it. At least two of my weekly sessions were HIIT Sprints on an eliptical or track.

My cutting diet looked like this:

You would have to alter the times by when you train, and cycle the carbs 3 days low (.5g/kg body weight) and 2 days high (2.0g/kg body weight), or high on training days and low on non training days. The diet in the link represents the 100g CHO median.

1Kg = 2.2046 lbs

...oh, and MANY of the hotties over on the women's board have kids. Including our only female pro figure Moderator, "fitbitch."

Bmom, bronzedgodess, brick, kronkette, 1strongwoman, temple, voodoo lady, and many, many more. Kids don't ruin your body unless you let 'em. :)

Spatts makes a good point. YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN'T SPOT REDUCE BODY FAT. Tell everyone you know, it's an antiquated notion perpetuated by infomercials and bad personal trainers.
