Need help!

HI! I'm new here. I was told (thanks Manny78), that I could certainly find some answers to my questions here!

BTW, sorry about my english, it sucks bad, I know. :cyclops:

First of all, let me tell you that I'm 5'1" tall, I weight about 115 lb! I wouldn't say that I'm fat, because my legs, arms, butt are pretty thin! All my fat goes in my tummy and my not so lovehandles!

Since 3 weeks I do some cardio (3-4x a week - 40 minutes - Stairmaster or Precor EFX 544) and I do some weight training for my arms (I would like to have them more cut (is it the right word?)).

So here's my question.

I would like to have exercises to define my waist. I don't have a lot of hip, and since my fat goes on my waist, I look like I'm formless! I'm ready to work hard since I'm really self-conscious of how I look.

If you need informations, don't hesitate to communicate your questions to me!

Many thanks!

First of all welcome to this site...you will find great people here, and the women are very-experienced to say the least, so you will be in good hands with both genders.....There is no such thing as "spot reducing" - this is a myth....the other myth is" you"as a woman will not get huge, by doing moderate to heavy weight training......which is what you need....overall body work...not just arms....DEFINITION comes with diet......period. Your cardio is moderate to high....its not working according to you....you need to implement resistance training, more so than cardio, IMO....your body/height/weight ratio is ok...just redistribute...in good shape, you can carry 115lbs with no problem and look muscular.....I know this from experience.....my ex-wife was your size exactly and she was incredible looking.....brain features, thats another subject......LOL....there will be some great women on here and guys to give you a workout plan if thats what you need....yes??

Yeah! I definitely would appreciate help with my workout plan! That's the reason why i'm posting here ;-)

About my cardio, I would say it works pretty well. But I know I need more than that to get to my goals. And I know that I need to train more than my arms.

The fact is I don't want to train to be very muscular... I just want to be cut! I would like to train only my upper body, since my legs are perfects for me...

And diet... it's probably one of my biggest problem! I like to eat...

Anyway, I'm open to any suggestion!

Like I said...spot reducing is not possible....the legs are the key to any physique, they represent 50% of total muscle on the body, if you want to change the way you look, leg work must be done...again do not worry about getting overly"BIG"- most people on here wish that could be true!!!!especially the women...Protein is a must-start at minimum with your body weight in grams for protein..ie; 115lbs= 115grams protein per day...use a supplement for this, otherwise you will be as big as a house trying to get that with food if your trying to keep nearly the same size as you are....again DIET is going to be key to shed the fat....The girls on here can give you great workout programs, they have them already laid out, and will post them for you as time comes.....Iam not real good on the computer so I will advise instead of creating a regime for you.....you are in the right place...

If you focus on building muscle all over your body, the fat around your midsection will automaticly reduce itself. Your body burns more callories when it's heavier with muscle. I weigh more now than I did a year ago, but my pants size has gone down considerably. Do not be afraid to lift weights and build muscle, you won't get big, you'll just achieve the definition you want while loosing fat. Eat lots of healthy protein and keep the carbs down. I like to work out each bodypart once a week, doing 3 exercises per bodypart, 3 sets of 10-12 reps. It usually takes me 5 days out of the week to do this, but I'm not in the gym long...if I'm training by myself it's 45 minutes to 1 hr. usually.

MrsPuddlesFL : I asked one of my friend to build me a training program. As soon I he'll give it to me, I'll post it here and I hope people will comment on this. I know I have to build muscle, but my fear is that I get too muscular... you know! I admire what you girls, want to look like, but it's not my style, not how I want to be.

PBR: About diet, I suck big time at it. I really don't know how and what I should eat to achieve my goals... I know that I probably eat too much carbs, not enough protein, I like beer and wine... I would like to diet more, but I don't want to weight everything I eat... I'm looking for a diet in the middle.

Manny: Thanks ;-)

Don't worry - YOU WON'T GET TOO MUSCULAR! Not without training like crazy for years and probably running some cycles too. If only it were that easy to get that way...

Thanks! you reassure me! :)

BTW here is some pictures of how "big" I'm now! :sulk:

Please be kind, I'm only posting to get good advices to reach my goals considering how I look like. (Manny & Buttplug, I hope I can count on you)! My webcam is an evil one, and makes me look a little bit bigger than I really am, but it might helps you to get the "portrait"!

Many thanks again to those who are trying to help me! :D
