ncmil's diet plan

Thanks Daisy Girl :) alot of people has suggested the same thing. All I need to do is try and see how it works for me

6 pak- are there any ready to drink shakes for post workout that would give you the insulin spike? I just hate going and using dex/malt right out of the container

If 6 pak doesn't mind..I think the biotest surge has the best mixture.

Daisy girl kicking ass as usual!

Simple sugars and other refined carbs, are released into the bloodstream more rapidly than complex carbs and can be used for energy or converted to glycogen. This elicits a large Insulin response, which in turn causes the excess sugar to be converted to fat.

Its just a comment(s) Im seeing, reading around

I read that post workout insulin spike give you good results same with oats.. but the insulin spike may give you a thicker waist, fattier tummy to some people..

Well actually, after workout you need a fast digesting carb(SIMPLE SUGAR) that will stimulate insulin responses. The best, and this issue has been discuss in numerous bodybuilding/weightlifting,and dietary mags/journals, is dextrose/maltodextrine b/c they stimulate a higher, quicker insulin response. There is also a debate on whether fruits can be used. IMO fruits that are made up of dex/maltodextrine(and i cant name any, which is why i dont use them in PWO, would be fine. I do know some fruits that are made up of fructose and sucrose. These sugars trigger little if any insulin responses, which wouldnt benefit you at all. It is also my opinion, as well as many professional bb'ers, weight lifters, and dieticians, that eating complex carbs post workout isnt at all beneficial,

But all the studies in the world DO NOT tell her how things will respond in HER body. Yes, they can give a guide, a likely outcome - but NO guarantee. All she (and ony of us) can do is try things and see if they work for the INDIVIDUAL.

As previously mentioned, I know, through trial and error, that PWO carbs DO NOTHING FOR ME. So why would I ingest them simply because some studies say to? I wouldn't. The whole point in trying things is to get to know YOUR body. What works for one, might not work for another. Same goes for scientific studies.

I won't even mention that the studies were likely done on MEN, not women. Therefore, the results may not translate the same for a female's hormonal and genetic makeup.

An insulin spike does causes an increased nutrient intake into fat cells, but it is also responsible for an increased nutrient intake into muscle cells.

Right after a workout, your muscle glycogen is depleted, so the insulin spike will cause an increased nutrient intake into muscle cells and is highly unlikely to cause an increased nutrient intake into fat cells.

Does that make sense? For more information, read this article entitled 'Take burning fat to a whole new level,' written by Jacob Wilson.

Good luck!

Thanks Jd I will search for the article :)
But like Daisy Girl said, everyone resoponds to things differently. My goal now is to lose Body fat and gain some or maintain my muscles. and later after I reach my goal I would want to try the Insulin spike that I havent tried yet. Why try something new, where I dont know if its going to do any good for me? I will stick to the oats, Yams, Brown rice routine post workout and hopefuly 6 weeks later I will let you guys know how this worked out and shock my body with some insulin spike post workout in the future :)

Thanks 6pak for all the info
and oh ya.. ncmil YOU ROCK!!!!
