nausea from working out

Does anyone know the cause of nausea that results from strenous cardiovascular or weightlifting exercises?

What do you do to stop it.

It makes it hard to continue working out when you feel that bad.

either puke and continue, or go home. Maybe you're eating too soon before working out or have some type of sickness.

The nausea from working out comes from a switch in blood flow from the digestive track to the muscles that you are training. This can occur more easily when training larger muscle groups at high intensities. Try not to eat for 1.5- 2 hrs before a workout or if you do eat keep it light. Simple carbs usually work well.

Yes, the best way to make it go away is to puke. Then you should feel great!

It does sound like maybe you're eating too close to your W/O, I have my last meal at least 2 hours before training, and it's pretty simple, like 1 package of oatmeal and a shake. I try to time it so that I'm on the verge of getting hungry when I head out to the gym. That being said, no matter what I do, I always feel like tossing my cookies when I train legs...

Unless its bad all the time, nausea is part of lifting hard. I spend more time on my back on leg day than I do on my feet.

hell yes...i also love not being able to walk correctly the next couple days...

make sure your breathing properly; i know its hard when doing squats, but thats the most common error people make when they get nausea; also remember to keep youself well hydrated.
