Well I have been having mine for 3 1/2 years now and it has made that time of the month horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am thinking about having mine removed and getting back on the shots. No period! I can live with that!

Really? Wow. See it started out that I got my period once a month. But hell, I have not seen it since june, maybe july. It has been real nice. Of course when I do get it my cramps are terrible. But it is light flow and only about 2 days if that. I love it. I used to be all wrong. Bleed for 27 days, have about 1 week or less off. I hated that shit. Since the I.U.D it has been ok. The first 2 months were a bitch, but after that it became a cake walk. Actually I have the hormonal one implanted. They say it is the same identical hormone as the Depo (which IMO is evil) yet I have had 0 similar effects that I had with the depo. That shit is made straight from satan! Period constantly, fat, bloated, etc!

As for IUD's or other forms of contraception - my ex had a vasectomy, after that it was condoms, then once I settled down a bit it was diaphragm. My doc did not want me to use the IUD and neither did the guy I was with when I got the diaphragm. It isn't impossible for me to get pregnant but it is highly unlikely as it took me fertility drugs to get pregnant before. If a pregnancy should result we will deal with that issue if it arises.

Mine is 5 year.
IMO u should get yours removed.Too many people have had problems such as seizures, infections, and even the I.U.D growing inside the cervix wall resulting in hystorectomy (sp).
You best bet would be to go back into your gyno and get the "plastic" one. Called "minerva". The copper one is dangerous, I have heard too many stories about that one.
