My Weekend at Westside and Nazareth Barbell (VIDEOS ADDED)

lol...I didn't feel anything. Basically you stand up and everyone says, "EW!" and you say, "WHAT?!?"

It's doing better. The blood is starting to dissipate, but it will probably be another week before it's normal:

Louie said that JM Blakely used to bench like that and had to have back surgery. I'm getting all kinds of mixed reviews. I really just want the numbers...my ego is passing right by my long-term logic. lol

I have never ever seen JM bench flat. in his video he discusses the arch and how to attain it. Jm hurt his back squatting, thats why he is a bench specialist....But he still arches

As far as carry over to raw I don't know the exact percentage I would say maybe 5% but using the shirt to train in will make you brutally strong and it will increase your raw bench....

as long as you stretch and your back is strong you will have no problem

Nice videos Spatts! Looks like your arch is coming along nicely :D How did it make your back feel?

BG, Irish Power and I were looking at the side views of my old bench and the "new bench" last night, and he agreed, my arch is maybe only slightly higher in the new form. The main difference I see is that I'm keeping my elbows under the bar more now, and flaring them at the top. Since the arch isn't that much more prominent, and I deadlifted just fine after doing it before, I'm gonna guess I'll be ok. Also, as I mentioned, my back wasn't the least bit fatigued from doing it that way. I'm kinda sway-backed anyway, and it felt sorta natural. As natural as that can feel, I suppose.

Mule, good to know about JM. Did you train Kara B?

Mr. Muscle, I don't even have a folder called "spatts videos." lol

This is what I always tell people about TheProject, too. He's not the biggest or the strongest, but he trains like he will be one day. He's gives 110%, no questions asked. The road he's taking may be longer than that of another lifter, but he's never once stopped walking.

Spatts those vids were awesome thanks to you and Project. Can't wait to meet you guys in about six weeks now I guess. Heart is much more valuable in my opinion than anything else in the gym and your whole crew seems to be teeming with it.

Cheers,
Scotsman

Thanks you two. :)

Sometimes I lose sight of the fact that I've only been training for two years (and powerlifting for one) when I want my numbers to be a lot higher than they are...then I remember things like having gone from not being able to deadlift to pulling 425lbs in a year.

It may be a long road, but I'm enjoying every step.
