First of all, I know this is more a diet/training post, so if it gets gets moved, I won't get mad. Fucking nazi mods.
A bit of background info first. I've used various diets before (mostly BodyOpus) with some degree of success, but fat loss always stalled after a few weeks. MOst other diets did very little for me. Cardio has always been been a hassle for me also. I suffer from skinny-fat syndrome, so when I lose fat a good deal of muscle always seems to go with it.
I used to be really fat a few years ago, probably in the 25-30% range, but after lifting for a while and deiting once or twice I'd usually hover around the 16% mark. Lowest I've ever been was 13%, and to be honest I didn't look that great. Somewhat athletic, but nothing to write home about.
Anwyay, I read about Swolecats program and after some research I decided to give it a shot. For those of you who are doing similar research, I dare you to fine one negagtive post from anyone who's signed up for SGX. Seriously, there are none -- at least I never found any. Everyone who's tried his program has had great success, myself included. Anyway, he dosn't need me kissing his ass. If you have questions email him or visit his website. www.swolecat.com
I stared the diet on June 16, so it's been about 7 weeks. I'll also mention that for the first week, I took no supplements at all and I took about 6 days off in the middle while on holidays. So my total diet time was around 6 weeks. (also, no juice or prohormones, etc)
Here are my results (I'm 6' tall):
Before: 203lbs, 15.95% bodyfat (fuck it, we'll say 16%)
Now: 185 lbs, 9.34% bodyfat
So in about a month and a half, I went from being a little on the puffy side (ok, a lot on the puffy side) to being decently cut.
Anyway, I'll talk about the diet a little. It's easy. Seriously, theres no real hassle involved. If you've been lifting seriously for a while, you'll be used to eating healty, carrying food with you, etc. There's nothing here that's hard to follow. Personally, I found the diet a breeze -- I won't say I didn't crave a Whopper every so often, but it really wasn't difficult at all. Even on cheat days, I didn't feel like cheating.
I found the workout/cardio to be surprisingly effective for both fat loss and strengh gains. Bench, squats, and deads all went up about 40 lbs. Gains for isolated movements were in the 5-15lb range. It's a tough workout for sure, but after about two weeks I really started to progress strength wise -- and that was enough motivation for me.
Other things...
total cost of all supps: $72 (CDN)
cans of tuna eaten: 168 (4 a day average)
chicken breasts consumed: 42 (1 a day average)
protien powder consumed: 12 lbs.
times i've been accused of juicing: 7
chicks who've told me I'm "fucking hot": 16 (we've got a lot of high school interns at my office, god love 'em)
It's a real trip to look in the mirror and see abs instead of a roll of blubber. I wasn't in crap shape before, and even now I'm no AAP or HighIntensity, but goddamn I look better than 80% of the population. On the downside, none of my pants fit. lol Even my old 32 inchers are super loose...
Anyway, mad props to Swole for his plan and advice. If you're serious about getting into the best shape of your life, visit the mans site: www.swolecat.com
