Hi everyone. I don't usually post here but I just wanted to share my success in treating my pet rats' gyno. First off let me say it is strictly pubertal. Both rats were swollen and in pain and Lefty has even lactated on occasion. My rats have never ran a cycle.
Having gyno has been rough so I won't bullshit you and tell you to do something that doesn't work. I'm not affiliated with any company or product. Over the years, I've taken my rats to several vets and they all said, "there's nothing we can do/ surgery is the only option". Now I found my own treatment. I started on June 21 and in that time alone I've seen a noticeable difference in their gyno. Maybe a 30% decrease. Their pain is largely gone and there's no more lactation. The glands are smaller and less puffy.
Here's my treatment plan:
Liquid Tamoxifen- 20mg per day broken up into 2 doses 12 hours apart. The reasoning behind that is I read that tamoxifen has an active half life of 7-9 hours. I also read that it takes about 2 weeks to get the levels in the body where you want them to be. There's many studies on PubMed proving the effectiveness of Tamoxifen in treating gyno. The key is a low dose over long periods of time. Don't increase the dose it's probably not going to work any better. I read one study about 10mg per day over 6 months causing an 80% decrease in gland size with no re-occurrence in the majority of cases.
Liquid Prami- .5mg a day. Should have worked into this one doing .25mg a day or .5mg EOD. Makes my rats drowsy but at the same time makes it difficult to sleep. The reason behind this one is it suppresses prolactin. Lactation is a sign of prolactin. On that note don't rub your nipples as it increases prolactin. That is why women who aren't pregnant can be wet nurses.
RS Transaderm-1 pump applied directly to a shaved scrotum in the morning and 1 at night. This is in order to increase DHT which is a natural aromatase inhibitor in the body.
Honestly I can't say which product is causing the improvements. I think research chems are hit and miss. You have to get them from a reputable company.
That's about it let me know if you have any questions.
