Other prominent scientists say that it's a choice.

And others say it's a birth defect. Too much conjecture, not enough study.

Why bother wasting money to study this? It will only result in a few possibilities.

Possibility #1: We conclude that it's a natural phenomenon, like OMEGA said, which we cannot control.

Possibility #2: We conclude that it's a choice, like spentagn said, which we must respect for individualistic moral reasons.

Possibility #3: We conclude that it's a birth defect which, even if we could "correct," no one would want to "correct," and thus, all of the money spent on studying this would be wasted.

not a theory but has been proven under scientific methods.

two cases in the animal kingdom come to mind as well.

1) baboons in Africa, had homosexuality accur in there populations under 2 conditions,
1 scarcity of resources (food)
2 over population under the stress of scarcity.


2) a fish of the coast of Austarlia can actually change it's sex mid life to accomidate the needs of it's poplation, from being male to female, fertile or in-fertile, ..........again all based on the needs of the poplation as a unit, and the resources made available to that unit.

But see we don't. We are not insecure. We just find it uneasy that a GUY would find us attractive. We LOVE women to find us attractive. Hell why do you think I BUST my ass 5 days a week in the gym? Put it this way. If some weird disease hit the planet and wiped out all they women, I would be the biggest couch potato in no time.

Sorry, but nothing can ever be proven. There is always the possibility that an exception to the "rule" will occur. Until we can predict and accommodate for ALL possibilities, nothing can be certain.

As far as your evidence goes, significant differences are present when studying humans and other species, much less from other phyla.
