See, now I don't see being realistic, even if it does mean having a slightly pragmatic point of view, as cold
But that's Mother Nature for you. The Goddess has more than one face for a very good reason: she is the welcoming smile at your birth, the dazzling lover in the prime of your life, and the wizened crone who doesn't hesitate to take you out when your time is up. No good being all touchy, feely mushy when the truth of the matter is, in the vast scheme of things, how important, really, is any of us? What is our 70+/- years compared to the lifespan of this planet? As a species, we aren't even blips on the radar; as individuals, we aren't far different from the ants (and no where near as organized).
That doesn't mean our individual lives aren't precious to us, but they really are like individual grains of sand on a beach. And yet ...
