Finally.

I feel pretty fortunate and undeserving to have gotten these as a gift... can't really afford two bills on a pair of workout shoes and am not yet at an advanced training stage.. BUT.. I've put in consistent hard work and am proud to own these babies. Being Greek, the fact that these were the official weightlifting kicks of the Athens Olympics makes them extra cool too.

Here's a few pics...

#2: Lacing them up

#3: Before a bench set

#4: Before a successful 164 lb. Pendlay Row 5RM PR

Well I *HAD* been using shox up until a couple months ago out of ignorance.. and they feel a ton better than those, people shouldn't be allowed to squat in those things. As for compared to other flat soled type sneaks...They really just feel extremely secure around the foot, and the best part that I noticed is that there is less of an effort I need to make to keep my weight back on my heels, and in order to go lower... it's slightly more automatic somehow (I don't want to overcredit the friggin' shoe... but that's the best way i can describe it.)

Just had the first workout with them yesterday... I liked them a lot, they helped me hit easier, and more importantly get out of the hole a bit easier and they felt very secure. But they're just a shoe, I'm not about to give it credit for my busting my ass in the gym lol... anything flat soled should achieve a similar effect.

I got them a half-size smaller than my sneaker size because I read that tip on the site that linked to the site I bought them from, the actual site says to get your dress shoe size not your sneaker size (so i guess dress shoe size = sneaker size minus 1/2??).

The site is http://www.dynamic-eleiko.com/

Shipping took exactly a week, ordered via fax, they don't charge sales tax which is nice.

Same as mine - over three years old. Resoled once (cobbler - something like $30). They covered up the little cutout on the sole, but the replacments are showing no signs of wear.

Same advice as from the other thread regarding these shoes: do NOT try to cinch the velcro down, buy some heavy duty work boot laces.

Have fun.
