A question for anyone that might be able to help besides my doctor. How in the hell do you keep yourself together on a liquid diet? I was ran over(assaulted) three weeks ago and have lost substantial muscle mass. Due to broken jaw, I can't eat. Broken ribs and torn cartlidge(sp?) in right knee keep my actions to a minimum. I was a solid 195 before the assault. I am now at approx. 170 lbs. and still wasting. my diet consists of mostly whey protein mixed with whatever i can find. I had used a couple of years ago and I can assure you that this is much worse than any anabolic crash you can imagine. any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
I've read that supllementing creatine and glutamine along with other aminos can help slow atrophy but who knows its not an exact science and I've never tried it but it is a suggestion and probably would not hurt.
 
Oh shit bro!!! I definetely send out my condolances (sp) to you bro. To prevent muscle loss, up your protein to 1.5g per pound and keep cals above maintenance or at maintenance at least - otherwise you will get screwed over even more. Without adequate protein intake, you will lose even more.

try to get slow digesting mrps , such as triple threat. whey= fast digesting, so it will make you feel like shit all the while because it digests too fast. try downing mrps with peanut butter, add some oils to up the cals, get your fiber via oatmeal (in blender if you wish) or metamucil and perhaps try to down cottage cheese (casein, slow digesting).

keep drinking plenty of water . Creatine is useless because you are not going to be working out. Just focus on keeping a presentable physique.

I'm sorry to hear that bro.....I'd suggest ( I know this doesn't sounds good) to get lots of carbs and fats....along with the protein. The down side to that is that you'll be getting fat, but you can burn that off and you won't be loosing muscle. just my .02
