Multivitamin in morning or evening

I take my multivitamins and flax oil in the morning with my protein shake upon waking.

A friend told me that the best time to take vitamins is in the evening because it stays in your system longer. I don't know, seems like BS to me.. Anyone have any insight on this?

Why would it make a difference when you take it, your friend is talking out of his butt. Just take it with food, as it allows better absorbtion and you're good to go regardless of what time.

It only matters if you take it with food. I usually take mine during the night with my last meal of the day. The reason is I normally don't eat a complete breakfast (just a shake, bar, etc.). Most multi-vits will cause extreme nausea if taken on an empty stomach, and many vitamins are better absorbed with food.

Your body isn't going to eliminate them any faster during the day.
 
how about taking your multi with your post W/O high GI & whey shake to

insure maximum absorption thats mho and make sure that its iron free

because it works again absorbing calcium, magnesium & i think zinc & vit D

for people with iron deficiency


take your iron alone in the morning then take your multi later on.

note the best vits are made from lactate-gluconate

e.g. there are many of calcium but the best is calcium lactate-gluconate

bad idea to take multi (containing fat soluble vitamins) with just glucose and whey
 
to answer the original question, don't listen to you friend. you can keep doing what your doing taking it in the am with flax and shake or at any other meal
 
I take mine after sups. Only reason I do this is b/c vitamins give me an upset stomach and don't want to be at work in the morning w/ a sore stomach.

Yeah all,

I kinda knew it was B.S. Its just like anything else.. At least take them once a day is they key IMO. I personally like taking them with my protein shake in the am. So far I have not experienced any stomach issues. I take my multivitamin, Flax Seed Oil and Fish Oil Pills first thing with my shake. Basically, it just sets me up to never miss taking them or forgetting.
