motivation

this is a question in which only one himself can answer, but i just wanted to get an idea of what you guys thought.

after two years of lifting and gaining good strides in strength and size, i have finally hit a wall and not in results.....but rather motivation. it seems like everyday is a chore to go to the gym, and when i do get in there it's just going through the motions so to speak. i have thought about this, and my goals haven't changed and to be honest i have gone further than what i originally had planned! i think it's my training partner(s)...they're just not intense. they try, but i can't rely on them to be ON TIME and much less show up. so to answer this i dropped them. now i'm on my own and constantly having to ask different people for spots on heavy days which i freakin' hate. it gets you out of your rythem and routine. the best partner i ever had lives an hour away, and i very rarely get to see him anymore ( our workout times are different).

so, back to the motivation question. what do you guys do to step up your intensity and get back to kickin' some ass and slingin' serious weight? only serious lifters need answer. i don't need some punk-ass telling me to crank up the rob zombie CD and walk around and look at myself in the mirror and flex.

As a 0530 am gym guy, I also hit the motivation wall after 2 years of this.
My lack of motivation was NOT mental, but rather physical.
I just could not get motivated to get my ass outa bet at 0450 and then get pumped enough to do an intense W/O at 0530.

My solution that is only short term was starting an ECA stack.
I wake up at 0450 and immedially take 2 Xen and then by the time I ready to leave and arrive at the Y it has kicked in and I'm rearing to go.

I hear ya bro - my answer was to switch to a home gym workout in my basement. I purchased a very good powrer rack as a spotter....

Also, I dropped back 20% on my weights and then worked back up 5% per week and was able to blow past the range I was stuck in.. I guess I needed to give my body a intensity break.. that helped motiviate me too...

Also, now working out at home has made me much more happy with a convience and access as well as lower cost !
