What is the most romantic song for YOU that could cause you to fall in love with someone or that you would want played at your wedding?

Yeah bro. Kinda bored here.

Anyway, I would say that Fields Of Gold would be near the top of the list.

My immortal by evanescense

Sade has some awesome tracks. I could put her CD on loop and fuc... err... make love all night long unless the sun came up. Or the authorities showed up first.

Back in the player days it was candles ready to be lit and Sade set up on the CD player.

Light candles, press play, press repeat and BAM!! All night goodness ;)

The 'Lover's Live' album by Sade. That has 'By Your Side', 'No Ordinary Love', 'Smooth Operator', and all the other good ones.

Diana Krall has some good ones on her 'The Look of Love' album, such as 'Besame Mucho', 'Dancing in the Dark', etc.

If you're into jazz, Fourplay has some great ones, such as their rendition of 'Between the Sheets', 'Someone to Love', 'Closer I Get to You', 'Cafe L'Amour', etc. Highly recommended.

Can't stand most of the artists mentioned in this thread (no offense; jmo): Two most romantic songs ever: Longer by Bread & Angel Eyes (Never let you go) by Angelheart

That Whitney Houston remake of the Dolly Parton song was good. Don't remember the name. It did get overplayed... but... it was great in the Bodyguard!

I still find it strange there's a sense of romance in homosexuals... Lust for someone of the same sex is alien to me, but in a world with people who are into scat, abuse and bestiality, it's hardly shocking.

Homosexual romance is still just a wildly bizarre, unrelatable idea. Seeing two men or women being close, not in a sexual way but in a personal, trusting and loving way, falls into the same category with seeing pink elephants dancing polka's.

I know it's real, it's not just an excuse mechanism for them to excuse their sex lives, the many romantic books, poems and compositions by homo's (Chopin...) are proof of this, as is the fact that they couldn't really exist the way they do if it wasn't real.

I also find it amazing how many homo's there really are. I'm fascinated by the question of what causes them to be this way. I'd love to know if there is any kind of chemical or anatomical difference between heterosexuals and homosexuals. A few years ago scientists in the Medical Faculty of the University of Amsterdam found a small piece in the brain that differed strongly in size between men and women and it actually turned out male to female transsexuals were indeed born with the female braintype.

I know there's a big difference between homosexuality and transsexuality.

I was hoping you wouldn't reply to my pre-edited post. Knowing most of his songs is something I would like to forget (oh, the memories).

Oh...ok...so what song are you talking about though? You said find the song...TRUST ME! Did you mean a song named Trust me or Sade's By Your Side. I'm so confused!

BTW, KLU I still owe you that book. I haven't forgotten. It's buried somewhere in my trunk. I'm sorry! : (

Not romantic... but it gets me every time. I don't even know the title, I'll just sing it "Cats and the cradle and the silver spoons... little boy blue and the man on the moon..."

"When you coming home son... don't know when, but we'll get together then... I know we'll have a good time then..."

I know we'll have a good time then...

I wish Perkele was here now.

You Are So Beautiful - Joe Cocker
Twilight - Elliot Smith
Ornella Vanoni - L'Appuntamento

It is about the feeling and conviction in their voices. You can hear them hanging onto every word.

There are hundreds of others, those are just in my current playlist and on my mind.

"I love you sooooooo. I love you soooooooooooo much. I'm so in love with youuuuuuuuu."

oh that is sweet. Fucking love it. That's it, I'm buying flowers for my wife tomorrow.

thats Harry Chapin, i think its "cats in the cradle".

not romantic tho, its about how father who ignores his kid when he was growing up then gets ignored in his old age by the kid. hits close to home .

"Slow dancin' swayin' to the music, noone else in the whole wide world, just me and my girl."

It's hard to know the most romantic song in the world when I haven't heard them all. From a musical perspective, the definition of "romantic" has become warped over the years. It originally meant roughly the start of a time when composers started to write for themselves instead of having to write for their employers, and actually became "artists", free to express what they were feeling.

Today "romance" generally means "idealistic love", but that's too biased a term to accurately describe it. It could mean anything for any one person to the next. That's what's actually romantic.

One of the most prominent works widely considered to help introduce the romantic era in music is Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata no.8. There is a song by Billy Joel that echoes it by the name of This Night which I consider a throwback to original romantic expression; like a tribute. So in that way I consider it to be very romantic.

One of my favorite songs that I think is also a romantic one is November Rain, by

Guns_N_Roses-poster-01.jpg

But as for playing it at a wedding.... well, maybe if the bride had a dark sense of humor. ;)

oh yeah, incubus-"i miss you" acoustic version

Oh yeah, The Blower's Daughter by Damien Rice and The Scientist by Coldplay. Also The Reason by Hoobastank, not really romantic but I used to listen to that song all the time when it first came out when I broke up with my gf.
