It probably depends on your generation. The first porn loop I ever saw was in 1973 with John Holmes and some hot brunette chick with big tits. I have always thought of Holmes and Ron Jeremy being the most famous but Peter North has probably been seen by more people.

It really depends on how you define "famous". If it's most "widely known", then guys like Ron Jeremy and Holmes are more famous than North because they are well known in the mainstream media (via Reality TV, movie appearances, Boogie Nights, etc). The average person knows who Ron Jeremy is - many of these same people do not know who Peter North is.

I also do think it's a bit "generational". If you ask a 21 year old woman, she'll say Jenna J. If you aks a 50 year old woman, she might say Lovelace.
