Morons at the gym (the official thread)...

Ok, I got to add this to this thread, I swear it was would have won an award on America's Funniest Videos or something.

I'm sitting at a bench minding my own business as usual when I start to notice all these loud grunts and shouts. Looking over I see what looks like a big circle jerk in progress. There were 4 roid monkeys sitting at a squat rack. They had a chair sitting right in the middle of it, and intertubes tied to the bar, and hooked to the floor by dumbells. They then preceeded to unrack 185-225 pounds..step back 6 inches...sit down on the fucking CHAIR...then stand back up..screaming the whole time. It was so pathetic...none of them save one managed to unrack anything over 275...

The worst part was, after they finished they would have their chests all puffed out like they were king big shit of the mountain. Then went on to deadlift...starting at 135 and ending at 225...jesus where do these people come from.

LOL...those aren't innertubes. They are for resistence...lol.

Yeah I realized they were for resistance...but even if it added 50 lbs to the squat..whats the point of squatting 300 onto a chair..and having two guys guide and help you back up...why not just squat the 300...

SO a couple AF'ers were cdoing bench today (of course, I mean it is Monday). Anyway, "bigger" guy puts 225 on and lays down. He does about 6 half reps - at least 6" off his chest - at least i tell ya. I then hear him telling an old man working the bench next to him "you could do the same w/ a lot of hardcore training". I couldn't resist.............

I went right over and asked him why he was training a 3 board press. He looked at me confused and asked wht that was. I explained it was a bench press that went NOWHERE near the bottom and was used to train weaker points in a lift. He said that touching the bar to your chest is cheating and I asked him to try his next set like I was doing mine - 2 sec pause at the bottom resting on chest - needless to say he couldn't do one - it was fun. BTW - the old man he was "coaching" was right there and he was pleased w/ the show - nice.

I got one for you. I came downstairs inmy gym to do calves.. i look over nd this guy has 9-10plates on each side of the bar has his bench press shirt on 5 mins to stretch 5mins to chalk up belt on 3 spotters everyone watching he lifts it 2"like he is going to unrack sets it back down nd thats that!! dumbest shit i have ever seen i tjhink his max was like not even 405!!

wtf.... so he just picked it up, thats it?.... lol
just like these assclown h.s. kids watching me do incline dumbells... they see me getting 5-6 reps per set with the 65's... (after flat barbell presses)... and they have to out lift me  ...they start with 65's and dont even go down far enough to make their arms parallell... let alone all the way down... they ended up using 85's with a spotter on each arm struggling to not let him drop the shit on himself...
then they glance over at me and try and look all tough...

there was this time when i was doing some seated cable rows to warm up for bent over BB rows. i can't remember how many plates i was doing, but this skinny kid sits down after i'm done, he puts all the plates and starts to "row". basically he was moving his back more than his arms - more like a seated SLDL. then he jumps off with the "i pwn you" expression all over his face

College is back in, and the hard-men of the frathouse are once more strutting around the gym like they own the place.

But there's entertainment to be had from even the most useless waste of sweat.. I heard a young fella on his cell next to me tell his friend, girl or mom "What do you mean what am I doing at the gym? Chest and biceps, bitch.. what else would I be doing? Getting PUMPED". All 160lbs of him in a beater to show off the barb wire tat on his 12" arm.

its this kind of shit that makes me happy ive graduated.

I am so glad school has started back up. The gym is finally getting back to normal until Dec/Jan sign ups start popping in.

The guy I am glad has left the gym is the skinny white kid with the ball cap sideways as to show how "urban" he is. Well, this kid has always given me a chuckle when he shows up. He is one of the typical upper body only workouts since I can't say I have ever seen him do a single lower body movement except for a walk around the gym. So skinny white kid after every single set seems to find it important to not only flex the muscle group he is working, but to also feel the muscle as if he's checking to see if the arm, shoulder or pec has grown since the last set. I have to check this out by watching from different mirrors as I think he is onto me, since he did catch me cracking up at him a few times.

The best exercise he does has to be on shoulder day, he does this form of front raises where he picks up a db and raises his arm, when he reaches parallel to the floor, releases the weight, then quickly catches the db after gravity has dropped it about 6 inches from the release point. It's got to be something he has created on his own, but he sure enjoys it since he does it every other day. And yes, after every set, up goes the sleeve and the non-existant caps are flexed and massaged. One of these days I have to walk over and ask him what that exercise is doing other than bringing a smile to my face evertime I see him, lol.

not considering this to be something a "moron" would do but i never understood the exercise where guys do seated barbell overhead press for shoulders but load the weight up real high and only bring it to the top of their skull then back up again. why not just lower the weight and do full range of motion?
