Morons at the gym (the official thread)...

Seen a guy slamming the weight so hard on the bottom of the leg press machine that at least half of the upward motion had to be momentum...

I saw it again yesterday. The young guy training w/ his skinnyfat girlfriend who has obviously never seen the inside of a gym and would never have the guts to enter one w/o said bf. She's following him around doign the same routine he is, but lower weights.

OMG. They're at the leg press. YES! He does it! He puts 5 lb weights on the sled.

Just kill me now. She hauled more weight in her ass just walking in the door....

He has now permanently established the fact that she is completely ignorant and feeble, completely helpless w/o him. Further, she will spend the rest of her life feeling that that is appropriate. Welcome back to the new Victorian Era.

This isn't so much about a specific moron, per se, but it does have relevance..

I am a senior in college.. so I typically have seen the same kids in and out of the gym for the past four years. Every school year we get new people in there thinking they are the shit, all big bad and tough. You know the type. Often times there were dudes in there lifting like me, but alot bulkier, and more muscular.

I started sticking to a decent 5x5 type routine a little over a year ago. Ever since then, I just look around and everybody has stayed the same size, while I have slowly grown, in size and strength. Even kids I know from four years ago. It just makes me laugh. I cleaned up my diet, got a decent routine, put on about 20 lbs of muscle in the past two years, and now all these dudes who were once intimidating to me are now skinny little dweebs.

Funny how it works. I guess they could be considered morons.
i've seen this happen to me twice. first time i was total noob... everyone was *HUGE*! a guy screaming through a 150lb bench (yes, i've actually seen that) was super strong back then... then 2 yrs later i was way bigger than them. this time, i lost all that weight and hit the gym... no one was *strong* but everyone seemed larger again. 9 mths later and i'm 33lbs heavier and more lean and these guys are small again. the worst thing is that some of them have actually dropped some weight, worse than remaining the same.

Then, after smith machine flat bench, he brings them over to do hammer curls, and he grabs the 35s, and uses more back to curl it then most people use to deadlift

Classic.
:p

Gotta wonder why she didnt just do unweighted squats, that would be more of a challenge. I'm sure he didnt waste any of his valubale time explaining why she should be doing the exercises either

I actually see that couple a lot in my gym - he has a habit of pointing out people bigger than him (pretty much anyone) and telling his girl loudly that he could be just that big and strong if he 'got on the juice'. She's usually in jeans and looking like she really doesn't want to be there

I used to see this couple running a circuit together. I'm all for togetherness but something about using the same bench for synchronized dumbell stepups while facing eachother just screams 'pussywhipped' to me.

:FRlol: I woulda paid big money to see the look on your face lol

I guess look at the bright side ... she tried moving some iron & didn't play on the elliptical all day ...

Saw 2 guys today, I've mentioned them before, about 155lbs each and wearing tight white tank tops. Anyway, I saw them getting psyched up and attacking 45lb flat db presses for like 5 reps or so, and struggling at that. Hey we all start somewhere but then I had to laugh when I overheard the expert of the two say, 'the thing about this lift is you can't overthink it' lol

hahaha, oh man, ohhh man

Today I glanced across the gym and noticed something...fruity. Facing the mirror (only about 2 feet away), stood 2 Abercrombies curling side by side at the same time. It looked very homo. Two guys, curling right next to each other, weird. But then I noticed that they were using ONE bar. They were actually curling the same 45 lb straight-bar together. Both had two hands on a different part of the bar and they lifted as a team. I couldn't make this shit up.
