Or is that Oui?? Not sure if Montreal is more french or english......

Anway, hubby & I are going skiing to Killington, VT in December & we may go to Montreal from there....

Any tips? Good places to go, see, eat, stay? How far is it from Killington -- driving??

Thanks in advance.....

Hey that's where I live ;) And yes it's more french than english, but don't worry about the language thing, most people speak both languages here. It's probably about about 2 1/2 hour drive. I hope you enjoy yourself, I love it here.

Oh and there are many things to do there, it depends on what your into? We have a great night life. If you like shopping, like most women :) you have to go to the Eaton Centre downtown, there's 4 malls attached to it, so you can shop all day and not go outside.

Is it a pretty safe place?? Hubby & I are walkers, so we walk everywhere!!

2 1/2 hours from Killington isn't bad!!

Any recommendations for places to stay?

Yea it's pretty safe, not a problem you can walk around downtown all you want.

As for places to stay... hmm there are so many hotels around. We have the holiday inn, the delta, marriott, sherton, queen eliazbeth, and many more. The price ranges vary, I can look into prices for you if you'd like?

That would be great!! I wasn't sure if there were mostly local hotels or major ones.....I wasn't sure where to start looking hotel-wise....

Oh no problem, it's a big city so we have local and major hotels here. I'll look into prices at different hotels for you, and get back to you on that tomorrow.

Where are you located?

I live in Wilmington, DE........it'll be a 6 hour - 6.5 hour drive to Killington, VT....then however long to Montreal from there...

Have fun! Montreal is a beautiful city. The nightlife is great and the shopping is excellent! I don't visit it as often as I'd like to, but I'm actually going to school only 2.5 hours away now (as opposed to about 7 hours from home) so maybe I'll be able to visit it more often now.

Hi Jen,

Here's a list of hotels, with approximate rates, and their phones numbers, these hotels are all located right in the heart of downtown.

Delta Centre-Ville $ 189 514-879-1370
Holiday Inn $160-220 514-842-6111
Sheraton $199 514-878-2000
Novotel Hotel $145 514-861-6000
Queen Elizabeth $209 514-861-3511
Hotel Maritime $120-160 1-800-363-6255 / 514-932-1411 (you can check out their website too www.hotelmaritime.com)

And of course all these rates are in canadian dollars :qt: I hope this helps.
