Military bros (or non), what say you

It don't matter anyway the army is useless no matter what out- fit it is. The Marines rule the world...because we kill everything we see..1st Battalion 9th Marines Bravo 1-9. Google them and you will utterly agree...

I really don't know how I missed this...and beyond humorous branch slamming....I don't generally give other branches shit

but fallujah 03' go read up on it...I suggest you start with a book called "whiskey tango foxtrot"

Our whole military is pussified. Well except for the Marines in general and the elite of other branches.

We are supposed to be training them to win wars, inflict maximum damage and brutality upon the enemy and survive in the process. How the fuck can you do that if they are little, whiny bitches that get to complain and the drill instructors and NCOs cannot do what is necessary not only for the own good, but for those they support and depend upon them to be there.

And when I went to boot camp back in '83, we learned how to do everything the Army is wanting to implement now, except for yoga and pilatis.

We had pugil sticks, but we beat the crap out of each other, spent weeks on markmanship, qualified out to 500 yards on the M16 with iron sites, ran 3-5 miles a day, humped a 100 pound back up and down hills with names like Grim Reaper and Mount Mother Fucker. We crawled under barbed wire, charged enemy pill boxes and more. We also spent inordinate amounts of time on history, Marine discipline and more. We didn't whine about being fat, (have you ever seen a fat active duty Marine? I'm sure there are 1 or 2 out there, but that is all.)

What's more, is the fact that yoga wont' prepare you to kill the enemy. We did a lot of stretching before we did any exercise.

As for the chow hall, we didn't have fried foods, were not allowed soda, had our choice between juice, water or milk. We had no high fat foods, etc. Well, I take it back, we might have had french fries.

When I went to OCS in 1987 we were expected to be in shape and already able to pass the PFT first class. 3 mile run in under 27 minutes, 20 pull ups and 80 situps in 2 minutes. God forbid you were not in shape when you arrived.

We took care of the quitters, the cry babies, etc. They either hardened up or they washed out, plain and simple. There is no room in the military for a fat out of shape, whiner who only knows how to quit.

Okay, I'm done, back to regular programming.

Tell that to your generals. Doing 50 pushups isn't goign to win over people and win wars.

c

The generals know this but physical performance is important on many levels above and beyond the physical. Napoleon said that morale is to the physical as ten is to one in warfare. The ironic part is that physical training gives a tremendous morale boost, not to mention it's as good as Prozac at treating mild depression. In BCT we still went through the bayonet course even though the bayonet has NEVER been a decisive weapon in ANY battle in history, it encourages aggression which is more valuable than the training itself.

Marines are assault troops and are trained within that limited field and their thinking reflects it. I like to point out that in every major conflict from WWII to Iraqi Freedom the Army actually fought first. Also, I point out that the greatest amphibious invasion the world will ever see was a 100% U.S. Army operation...Normandy. I also point out they put the marines in the rear with gear shooting at mines....:) A casual breakdown of casualty rates also shows that being a marine is more likely to get you killed, there were constant conflicts between Marine and Army generals during WWII over operational doctrine. The marines wanted to constantly attack and not reinforce their gains against counter attacks, assault troop doctrine, while the Army took ground and entrenched before initiating the next attack. It should also be noted the Airborne beat the Marines into Kuwait for Desert Storm...Just sayin...Airborne is first to fight...:)

Marines all the way. Fallujah we showed the rest of the American military how it is done! The same as we always have.

Look at what has been said about Marines:

United States Marine Corps Quotes

Reagan:
Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem.
Ronald Reagan, President of the United States; 1985

Eleanor Roosevelt:
The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!
Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945

Sgt USMC 1983-1991 Semper Fi, do or die Bitches.

Call sign Mongo (I think I got that when I was a deputy sheriff, but who cares, it fits)

Bullshit, we win wars and do the jobs that the Armee cannot and won't do. I seem to remember that the Army overstretched its supply lines during the opening of the war in Iraq, and who saved their bacon? The Marines, while we simultaneously fought our entire way up the east side of Iraq. Does the Army have an airforce? How about a navy? The Marines do.

Now with that said, it is true the Marines and Army have different jobs to perform. The Marines are the nuclear weapons of the military and the surgeons knife. The army is force that occupies and provides long term support to the ground effort.

All interservice rivalry apart, I believe in all of our services and have worked with them all. I may pick on the other services, but in the end they are my brothers and sisters too and I am proud of the job they do for shit wages, for an idea that is called freedom.

I love the whole interservice rivalry, truth is, this will never go away and it shouldn't. It will always make us fight harder and better.

PS, read up on Chosen Resavoir, etc. I also seem to remember that my buddy who is a Marine, was sitting in Kuwait before the rest of the world new what was going on with the Army coming up asking them for extra rounds for their weapons. Just sayin :)
