Men, I Need a Little Reality Check, Please.

I was paging through my latest copy of Oxygen Mag and happened accross an Instone ad with this guy's before & after. Add says he lost 37 lbs in 4 months. Doable, yes - but I don't think he got all those muscles from taking the Leanfire he's holding in his "after" picture.

Can you gentlmen give me your opinions on how he went from his before to his after?

I've worked with clients who were on a BodyOpus for 4 months. On average the loss was 2lbs. of bodyfat/wk and 1/4th lbs. of muscle gain/wk. In 4 months, one could theoretically lose 32-35lbs. of bodyfat, and gain 4-5lbs. of muscle. Although I can't tell you if this was the case here, I can certainly tell you the figures beforehand are feasible.

Muscletech seems to have purchased 1/2 the pages for advertising.

Thats why they filed for bankruptcy - nobody can keep up with that advertising budget no matter how much you sell.

Either way I think he looks like a douchebag. The only thing I'd want from his "after" picture is his BF%, he looks like shit otherwise.

I don't like it. it casts doubt (for me anyway) on the validity of the magazine itself. How objective can they be about suppliments with the fear that they might lose their biggest advertisier if they come out with an article that another product is better?

The pics are definantely doable. I'm not saying that those particular pics are real, just that the change is possible in that time frame. Check out the body for life website. I did that comp a while ago and in 12 weeks made a similar change, and that was pre AAS for me. Diet can work wonders in a few months. I went from 220lbs to 190lb's and looked much bigger than I had at 220.

That's doable but in this case I'm not sure it is the same guy.....
