Mba / cfa

Does anyone here have either their MBA or CFA (or even perhaps both)?

If you do, do you find it was worth it and would you provide any recommendations/insight for anyone considering pursuing one or the other or both?

A steroid chat board is certainly the appropriate venue for that question

'hmmm, a huge life decision is to be made.'

'lets ask the strangers on the interwebs who inject illegal drugs in their bodies!'

Pursue both if your trying to be a financial advisor and get hired at a top tier company then you need your mba and eventually you will need to complete and pass the cfa exams

And nobody in chat even works out.

Kneegrows got potential in a Fitguy sort of way.

No not fitguy3030 but the Fitguy before him

Until I see a 16 inch tar baby swingin' between his legs, I refuse to believe Kneegrow's not an alter.

I have an MBA.

The challenge is to find a name brand. MBAs have been massively marginalized over the last five to ten years. There's basically an elite tier, a branded tier and a God-knows-what tier.

And the sad thing is, many schools in that last tier are good schools. They have good educational programs, but they are virtually impossible for an employer to differentiate from the check-the-box correspondence/Internet schools.

wut tier does RedScam the EF Cuckold(TM)'s multiple graduate degrees fall into

I've got an MBA. I went to a good school in Canada. It's a different game up here though. Most are good schools. There's a few top ones. Truth is that unless you plan to be a rock star working in the head office of a Fortune 500 company, or on Wall Street, any school in the upper 50% percentile will do. I don't have a CFA. I originally planned on it but changed my life path. Didn't want to trade my youth and soul in. Started working for myself and doing well now. The MBA certainly helped me get here.

MBA's have been useless in the states since the late 1990's, unless it's from a top school.....too easy to get which lowers the stature of the degree.Businesses have focused on analytical ability; That's why a lot of physicists work for hedge funds...marginal productivity. MBA's are the minimum wage workers of the financial world. :-)
