Married with Children? You're amongst the elite in America.

Apparently the full-scale attack by the liberal elitists on the institution of marriage and family in America is beginning to take root.

Unfortunately those who will suffer will be those living outside of this established, healthy, social norm:

<snip>

As marriage with children becomes an exception rather than the norm, social scientists say it is also becoming the self-selected province of the college-educated and the affluent. The working class and the poor, meanwhile, increasingly steer away from marriage, while living together and bearing children out of wedlock.

"The culture is shifting, and marriage has almost become a luxury item, one that only the well educated and well paid are interested in," said Isabel V. Sawhill, an expert on marriage and a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.

How is it an attack to point out a trend? I dont think that calling married people "affluent" and "well educated" is much of an attack. :lmao:

This thread on the heels of the right wing's cheerleader, Coulter, attacking homosexuals seems particularly ironic to me. Let's gloss over her quite obvious slur and try to pin social scientists as denegrating marriage by calling married people "increasingly affluent and well educated."

That is LAUGHABLE.

What is laughable is that you don't read/understand before you comment. The excerpt I quoted from is not the attack on marriage. The attack has been underway for years (welfare addiction, promiscuity, abundant abortion, gay/lesbian agenda, no-fault divorce, discrediting Christianity, etc.)

OHHHHH! I GET IT! I AM the attack on marriage! I'm unmarried and pregnant. That means I'm somehow tearing down people's marriages? Dang, I didn't know. LOL.

Ridiculous.

One persons choice not to be a Christian, to get a divorce, etc does not prevent you from getting married or staying married.

It is only from your own luck that you are still married Longhorn. You have admitted to indiscretions. Shit happens. You could have very easily been one of these persons you are lambasting for "destroying marriage"

Hmmm. Not sure how this became personal, but I didn't intend it that way.

I fully admit that I married over my head, but not due to luck.
