that amount of protein must be a joke he's playing on you-no bodybuilder eats less than 300g a day of protein. Go with the higher pro option

Thanks for your imput...

Just a reminder to everyone...This will not be a protein debate like another post turned into..

ps.. I have never eaten more then 250g of protein and I weight 230lbs from 160. I always kept at about 1g or so...

LOL

ahhh, follow the herd. gym science is always proliferated in this manner.

daily caloric intake/output is the key. stick to a decent profile of macronutrients with a higher intake than output and you will grow. the carbs will fuel your workouts and have a protein sparing effect. the higher protein intake will be more difficult and is the lazy mans way to ensure you get enough protein. instead of giving it some thought, most people opt for the high protein option just because the extra protein CAN be turned to a sugar for fuel. since carbs cant be turned to protein, most dont opt for that. like i said, its the lazy mans way, safer for some. as long as you know you are getting enough carbs, then there should be no fear that a more realistic and lower protein intake will be used for muscle growth and recovery. 1.8g/kg for endurance athletes AND bodybuilders, with the rest being carbs and fats. (this is ACSM guidelines, not individual opinion, but study backed info)

whichever you choose, its up to you. but you can save yourself some money and having to choke down different protein sources so much by just figuring out what your body needs and filling the rest with the fuel you will burn in your workouts.

If you spend all of your time worrying about this...you will get smaller. Just eat all that you can and lift the weights. There comes a time when you just have to wrap your hands around a piece of cold steel and give it all you have.

Just eat...and eat lots.

ahh, the 3 steps forward, 2 steps back approach.

unplanned overeating and hard work will yield growth, but the person who posted want to get in the best condition possible. training hard is the easy part since its what we enjoy, diet tends to be the challenge for most.

My post came out wrong...my apology.

I did the eat till i puke when I was 17 years old. I was blown up to 230lbs back then with about 15%-20%fat!!!

Now I plan on maybe doing a contest after 7 years of training and just want to follow the better way to getting in shape.
Eat + eat is good for when you dont really care on what you look like exept that you look big in a sweater...

I am a big advocate of pigging out for a week or two...then cutting back a bit.

Yeah...I am fat...what can I say:)?
