Making Cell-Tech...Loading questions..

Hey,

Im on my way to making my own Cell-Tech. I bought a 2.2lbs bucket of pure creatine from GNC, a bottle of 100mg ALA and placed an order for 10lbs of dextrose.

In total Ive paid:

200 serving creatine - $33
30 100mg ALA - $8
10lbs dextrose - $11

Total: $52 for a good 2-3month supply. (minus the $8 every 2 weeks for ALA)

Anyway, Im planning on mixing 10grams of creatine and 75grams of dextrose mixed in a cup of non-sugared Kool Aid (also taking 2 100mg caps of ALA). Anyway, I am still a little confused on when to take all of this. Ive read that taking Cell-Tech pre-workout will leave you with an insulin spike half way in the workout. I was planning on loading half before and half after but now Im planning on just taking it all right after. My question is...on non workout days...should I still go through with the dextrose and ALA? I am going to be loading 20grams for 5 days and moving down to 10grams.

Also, Im 17 years old, 5'10" and 180lbs with 24% bodyfat. The thing is I dont look chunky but I have a gut and some boobs. http://afrobob.homestead.com/files/buff.jpg <- My picture. I think creatine is needed because Ive been vegetarian for one year. I lack natural creatine and I need a boost. I start working out this coming week. Im also going for 6 meals a day of simple carbs and protein.

Protein: Money is tight. Im barely pulling off this whole mix...but Im wonder whats my best protein choices (non meat...tuna). Trader Joes carries 15 servings on Designer Whey for $9 (17g of protein). How many peotein shakes is a good amount to take per day and when?

One more thing, how do I measure grams with spoons? I know that a teaspoon is around 4grams...but how do I measure 75 without a scale? HELP!

Thanks :kronkette

first off- dont load.
non workout days, you can take the creatine with a little dextrose. maybe 20 gms. l
protein - doesnt matter how many shakes, as long as you get requisite protein. designer whey is expensive compared too others. ie optimum
measuring ?

Your bf %age is rather high. If I were you I'd first go through a cutting phase using some NYC or ECA combined with cardio and a sensible diet. Shed some of that extra fat, then start using the creatine to bulk up.

5'10" and 180lbs with 24% bodyfat.

what im wondering is how you actually came to that bf

creatine right after workouts.... none work out days in the morning.

rj is right designer whey is expensive you can find a better buy.

protein, i take 3 a day depending on where i am and what im doing. when you wake up after you work out and before you go to bed. but it can vary to your personal schedule

My bodyfat is high but like I said, Im a big person. My calves are 17 1/2", my chest is around 42" and my shoulders are 20" wide. I use to be really fat 2 years ago and I lost 50lbs..

i tested it at school holding one of those electric readers. its right. i have a belly.

If you're just starting into a training routine, you should work on making a priority of eating well and training regularly.

With your weight and bodyfat percentage, you'd be best to try hitting the gym about 4 times a week, with a mix of weight training and cardio.

As far as eating, protein is king. It'll help you add lean mass, and lean mass burns more calories than fat. It also helps to keep hunger at bay. Since you're beginning, try 0.7-1.0 grams of protein a day per lb of your bodyweight.

Good protein sources are chicken, turkey, most fish, lean beef, egg whites, skim milk, protein bars and powders. Adding a good multivitamin is wise too.

I'm not sure that creatine will help you much right now. It won't hurt either, but you might just be wasting your money. I'd give it a couple of months with good diet and training first.

My thoughts only.
