my friend is training hard but is still drinking beer. he justifies it by saying "its low carb" can anyone provide me with some good ammo to shoot him down

You could go with something along the lines or alcohol is dehydrating his muscles. So all the hard work is not getting its full effect. Or, maybe that the calories are still completely EMPTY and void of any redeeming qualities.

The problem I have with low carb/calorie beer is it also has very low alcohol content. Part of the point of drinking beer is the buzz....and you have to drink 23 MGD64's to catch a buzz:drink2:

beer is horrible, it is very estrogenic which means flabbier midsection, flabbier pecs, and puffy nipples. it also inhibits protein synthesis which hurts gains. those two things alone are a bodybuilders worst nightmare.

If he is happy with his current results while he drinks....then let him drink!!! Unless he is planning to compete its no big deal in my opinion. I have plenty of friends that look frickin great and drink all the time, some people just want to look good enough to hit the bar in a tight shirt anyway!!
