Beginner needs help

- WARNING - I am a beginner >_<

Hi! Uhmm I'm new to this forum and the other day i managed to come across this forum. I need help losing weight. I'm in grade 12 and i've been gaining weight ever since i stopped playing rugby. Now, I'm constantly getting fatter and my apetite won't stop. I tried to start exercising again and its really hard for me for some reason. I always end up stopping and school/extra curricular always gets in the way. I want to shed off some few pounds before I go to prom. Also, my mom wouldn't let me diet properly. Its either white rice or no white rice. <-- Strict parents.

Could you guys give me tips on losing weight and how could I get into the daily routine of exercising again? I'm a pretty busy person and I suck at time management. I would glad if you guys could give me some tips!

Appreciate it. :D

Hi hellzsavior,
Prefer brown rice over white rice, do start some sport, workout or some physical activity to burn fat and lose weight. Increase water intake, avoid beverages, soda and even diet soda and start drinking green tea. Add raw food more in your diet meals and avoid oily and fast food.

^^^^ What Forbes said would help a lot. Soft drinks are so bad for you. Eat healthy,Exercise more, You know all the common sense stuff. As far as the parents I'd guilt them into providing adequate food if they can afford it(isn't much if kept simple). If they love you they should want you to be healthy.

If you're always hungry try drinking lots of water all day to help keep full....a lot of times thirst is confused with hunger. You're a lil young for appetite suppressers, so try and find natural ways to help the appetite.

Personally I'd use that appetite to my advantage and just eat tons of healthy eggs, fish, meats and vegetables and lift weights and just pack on muscle.

Get your ass in the weight room man and kill it. It will raise you're metabolism therefore making it easier to burn fat. Also cardio before and after you lift. Should total about 30-45 mins. Try to do this 3-5 days a week and always keep your diet in check. Remember man that fat ain't going NO WHERE unless you have a good diet. Eat your veggies, high protein and watch your starchy carbs. Stay clear from breads, potatoes (besides sweet), cereal etc..you get the point. Trust me my man you will se results with the hard work you put into it, you are what you eat. Plain and simple

what are some starchy carbs?? I love brown rice. Mom hates making it. =_= me and my sister tried convincing her, didnt work cause dad's boss of the family lol

Stay away from white carbs especially! You know like pasta, cereals, white bread..you get it? If your going to eat carbs just make sure it's whole grain

Exactly...to lose weight stay away from processed carbs, white breads, rice, sugar ladened cereals, sugar in general, drink water, get your butt into the gym, find a training partner with same goals, and just get it done son! You asked for advice, you just got it!

It's too bad that your parents are so hard-headed. No offence to them. If you MUST eat what they serve then remember portion control. Look up proper portion sizes (IE starchy carbs should be able to fit in one cupped hand), and eat smaller meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism going.
