Loosing Desire and Motivation, need tips

I am 33 and have been working out since I was 16. I'm your average natural bodybuilder at 210, 6'. Not ripped but not fat.

Lately, I've been loosing my drive to work out. Don't get me wrong I'm addicted to it, but find it almost impossible to get into that squat rack or under that bench with any passion. I have always been one who has that animal instict in the gym and one who is always on overdrive. But for the last 6 months, I've been unmotivated and always find something else to do. Going from 4 hard workouts a week to 2. I'm starting to see the difference and am getting bumbed on my lack of will power. I'll go really hard for 2 weeks, but then for no reason I'll take 10 days off.

Have any of you ever met this wall and how did you get over it.
I have a full cage at home and that is where I usually workout, I'm wondering if this is the problem and I should be in the gym atmosphere, but it's a loooooooong drive from where I'm at.

Please, any advice is needed- as I'm no longer the "big guy", but just the guy who works out now and then. HELP!!

It is time to go unnatural to gear. That will motivate your butt. Just do a light cycle and next thing you know you will be wanting to go back to the gym because of the strength you have. Also look at fat people in the mall with their gut hang bouncing around on there belt that is holding on for dear life- hell of a motivator for me. Yuck!

even though i agree with curling somewhat, i still think its entirely up to the person to decide if he/she wants to use drugs,,,

,maybe a change of scenery like a differnt gym could help......maybe one with hot hoes walking around all over

Gembat,

I would recommend a total overhaul of your entire routine and everything. Create a new split and do exercises you haven't done before or in a long time. Also, I would change your diet a bit (even though it could be good now). I find that when I get tired of the monotony of going to the gym, its time to change things up a bit. Hopefully you will find some new things that will re-stimulate you into lifting. Good luck bro.

take some time off.. or just keep your same routine up. When you start getting small and feeling like a pussy u'll get back into it =)

no but seriously u might just wana take a break for a while

Most people lose motivation when they stop seeing results...I agree with curling you may want to try gear...hell even Finasol is easy attainable and easy to use ....and if you have always been natural, you will feel like a monster in no tme.

Try Powerlifting, amateur BB contests, or even steroids. Personaly I'd hit the sauce, but maybe a contest would get you going again.

I'm with Dacypher, Completely overhaul your routine. when i stsrted not to make time for my workouts it was because they were monotonous and boring. Then i started powerlifting and got into west side style and its hard to keep me out of the gym. The array of different exercises that i use now compared to then is unreal. Just adding bands to some of my movements was awesome. and since you have a cage at your house thats allyou need. Maybe try some motivational music aka limp bizcut, rage, metalica, gnr or whatever gets you goin. even if your only there for a half hour you can gt a kick ass workout in a half hour just dont stop moving. start reading mags again. Goos luck.
