Looking for a nice used car.

Trying to keep it under $15K. Looking at Audi (4 series), Mercedes (entry C class), and BMW (3 series). Also considering Cadillac CTS.

Any input or personal experience would be appreciated. This will not be my primary car, but I still want a hassle free, low maintenence vehicle. Like to keep the miles under $50K.

Any other suggestions welcome.

All of the vehicles you are looking at are maintenance nightmares. You should consider a Honda Accord EXL or Toyota Camry . I owned an 08 Cadillac STS and it was a nightmare. The Northstar motor is the worse engine ever designed. Cadillac spent $24,000.00 in repair warranty work on the motor in less than a year. Remember, the Audi, Mercedes and Cadillacs parts are some of the most expensive in the industry , and you will be fine with any one of those units until something goes wrong and you have to come out of pocket for a couple thousand dollars.

I would just buy a new Honda civic.

Sure, it's not as flashy as those fine German vehicles you listed, but id worry about buying possible expenive repair bills for what you're looking to spend.

I'd go with a newer Cadillac. I just bought a 2010 cts and the thing is sexy adds 2 inches to my dick every time i sit in it. before i bought the caddy i test drove everything: maxima, altima, 350z, g35, c-class, 3 series, GTO, camaro....nothing drove like the caddy

I agree with Arabian. Avoid the northstar motor at all costs. My last car was a sts with the NS and i must have shelled out over $5k in 3 months on different shit going wrong. Plus they are known for the head gaskets blowing. (easy $2-3k job)

I'd have to say that in my opinion you can't really get much better than German engineering.. just leave it as it is- don't touch anything that has been played with or tweaked in any way.
but I agree on the Mercedes parts are going to be pretty expensive to replace,
The BMW is the route I would take,
-I was actually sponsored by BMW and had some experience with the later 3 series, and I would say it is as good as faultless!
-with the going fuel prices I would also say maybe to look into the Diesel options?

Otherwise as people have said look into the Jap market;
the new Honda civics are excellent cars, great fuel economy, reliability. fantastic overall.
