Looking for a convinient way to get 125g of carbs per meal

I need to get 125g of carbs per meal (7 meal diet; 5 meals with carbs; the last 2 meals ,no carbs).

I have been eating oats, oatbran, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, brown rice and tons of green veggies, but I have to consume large quantities to get those numbers per meal, not to mention having to eat that much every 2 - 2 1/2 hours.

My diet does not allow for breads, fruits, sugars or any other junk, pure clean, fibrous carbs.

I was wondering if I get maltodrextrim (complex vs. dextrose =simple) and added fiber and/or fat to slow its absorption, would this make it an acceptable source of carbs (for a couple of meals per day)?

Any sugestions on foods that I could use would be greatly appreciated.

125g per meal? Are you sure about that bro? I get 2x that amount for the entire day....sometimes (off days) less......

5000 cals
50% carbs
5000 x .5 = 2500
2500/4= 625 grams of carbs daily
625/5 meals = 125g per meal

It looks like a lot because it is alot, and I'm half stepping the diet too.

Its suppoed to be lbm x 1.5 = protein intake = 15% daily calories
65% carbs

But I just can't take all that food, not to mention that its making me feel like a fat ass, so I stepped it down a bit. When I get used to this, I'll step it back up.

talk about insulin resistance - 125g's per meal? you better be living on a track field - eating and running 24/7 :o

55%+ carbs intake is a rather typical endurance athlete dietary routine, but for very advanced athletes, given that sports is their life. normal, or above average conditioned person will never utilize such a carb intake to any appreciable degree. what's the specific goal of your diet?

Increase LBM and strength.

It looks crazy, I know. This diet was suggested to me by a guy I work with who is an ex comp BB'er and trainer. I talk to him about training and diet and after being frustrated at the lack of progress (size, strength) he suggested this diet to me (the LBMx 1.5=15% diet). This guy is older, but he is still built like a house, so he knows a thing or two about a thing or two (he also trained under John Parillo). Will this diet work for me, I really don't know, but I made a commitment to give it a try for about 12 weeks. I can always do a massive cutting diet after this to shed the 100 or so pounds of fat that I might gain off of eating like this.

Current training sched.

Morning cardio 5x per week
45 min moderate pace

Train 3x per week

I am also thinking of adding cardio in the evenings on non training days, cause this diets got me feeling bloated.

2 bagels? A pint of Ben and Jerry's? Not hard when you stop and think about it. 125 grams per meal scares me though.

In this case your choices are extremely limited. Go buy sacks of oatmeal, brown rice and yams. And as for the fibrous carbs, well, be prepared to spend LOTS and LOTS of time in the bathroom :)

Why don't you ask the guy, who gave you this diet, for carb suggestions. He must know what are good carbs, if he came up with this diet.
