Lifting Shoes

New member
Ok ladies - I've gotten into the OL lifts lately (clean/snatch), and my BF has strongly suggested I get some weight lifting shoes (the hard soled type) for squatting and my OL work.

I've been searching around, but can't find a female specific shoe - anyone have suggestions? Or, if you bought the man's version, how did you size it?

JJ why hard soles??? I use" Cardillos"Classic trainers....they have a rubber composite sole...you can feel the floor, but it does not hurt...Iam not a power-lifter, but lift heavy...they are great shoes...my 2nd pair and ready for new ones....the sloe is thin...my .02

Thanks Slinky!

PBR - the stacked hard heel of lifting shoes help with high bar squats and front squats, and prevent bounce when doing the explosive OL movements. I wouldn't use them for DLs though; for those I need a flat sole, so I use Chuck Taylors.

Well I workout at home and I do squats with a barbell, and although this probably isn't safe, I actually prefer to workout barefoot. I guess I shouldn't recommend that though. Would hurt if you dropped a weight on your foot.
