Life after patella dislocations

The last time was over 2 years ago....but i am still paranoid about it.

anyone with experence know how to stop them occuring ever again.....or will i have to live in fear.

the cause of mine is undetermend.....they think because of my knock knees i have a muscular imbalance.

I am curently working my VMO and hamstring as much as i can.

any ideas?

with knock knees you definitely have a muscle imbalance. chances are vmo is lengthened and in a weak position, thats why your kneecap can shift so easily. how tight are your IT bands? ever stretched them or foam rolled them to see?

not quite sure what an IT band is.....

iliotibial band. a length of connective tissue that runs from your tensor fascia latae to the knee. excessive tightness can lead to ITB syndrome or runner's knee. also tight adductors can be to blame as well for knock kneed conditions.

how can i resolve those issues? Im guessing stretching for starters...what about the IT band what can i do about that?

buy a foam roll from performbetter.com and do self myofascial release on the affected leg. very easy, painful, but effective.
