ok.. when lifting weights, do you add more weight as you drop reps?

ex:

bench : 150 x 10
bench : 175 x 8
bench : 195 x 6

Thanks..

HE HAS FOUND THE ART OF PYRAMIDING!?!?!?!?!?!

When bulking

I reverse pyramid. Two warm up sets, then max weight for 6 reps, then lighter for 7 reps, then lighter for 8 reps on the last set. My gains this year were incredible doing this. As long as you go to failure it will work wonders.

err the more sets i do the less weights i can lift...
is this bad? should i not go so heavy at the start? and then as you say do pyramiding?

ok lets get this straight. If you are a beginner to working out with weights throw pyramiding out the window. Stop trying to do it all in the gym. Go in, do your set (heavy), take a 2 minute break, do another set. Before you start adding techniques like forced reps, pyramid schemes and even takingit to failure, build a base for yourself, see what weight you can handle and concentrate on form. Once you have that down to the tee then start adding other facets.
