Go in, do your set (heavy), take a 2 minute break, do another set. Before you start adding techniques like forced reps, pyramid schemes and even takingit to failure, build a base for yourself, see what weight you can handle and concentrate on form. Once you have that down to the tee then start adding other facets.
I'll second this. But as for pyramiding... I do regular & sometimes reverse. Hmm, maybe I ought to start a training journal... sometimes I forget what weight I used for a certain exercise... I start a set & realize I've got weight that's too heavy or light, hence my pyramid or reverse pyrmaid is decided when I begin the set!
But I mix things up a lot.
