could someone give me an advance lower body workout that will tone and build muscles. I want to do more squats but knees hurt when i go too low. Could i just do box squats and leg press for thighs? Any input will be appreciated.

Lots of squats/legpress. Barbell lunges. Hamstringcurls/sl deadlifts. All leg exercises do 6 set 25 reps. I usually start off with squats then do legpress. Then ham curls. Then front squats

Try squatting with a bench or chair behind u and squat until u feel yourself starting to touch and don't lockout at the top.
Super set 20 rep squats and 20 rep leg press. Then super set 20 rep hack squats with 15 rep leg ext.
For hamstrings, superset 20 rep seated leg curls with 15 rep lying leg curls. Then 15 rep stiff legged dead lifts. This is my leg workout every 4th time I do legs. Grow or die.

Lighten the weight and work form. Take below parallel to.work the range of movement. If you can't drop that far down comfortably do what he said above and use a chair or bench then next time lower it a couple inches and so on till you get desired depth. Then slowly raise weight to get knees used to weight. Unless you've had serious injuries you prob just need to condition everything for a lil while.

If your knees are hurting from squats than there is a flaw in your technique. I would find an experienced lifter to evaluate your squat. Or video your squat and post it on youtube with a link on here and get some feed back. Alot of people make the mistake of thinking that a certain exercise can fix their weakness when its a technical flaw.

^^^^ good recommendations above.

i agree with lessening the weight on squats if they hurt your knees, you can hammer away at 135 on squats and do heavy reps of them and really get a burn going. then go heavy on deadlifts.. that will definately grow your legs.

i would also load up in joint help.. krill oil, omega cage free eggs, extra virgin olive oil (drink a spoonful before the gym), avocado.

amen. leg press and hack squat machine are good if you do drop sets. I'll start with 2 plates a side on the hack squat. work my way up to 8 plates then do strip sets where I take off 2 plates and go to failure for about 4-5 sets

Hi All,
Very informative threat on leg building exercises as started looking forward to build legs and will make a set of above mentioned exercises to make my legs muscular. I will be kind if some one will advice me some diet plan also. Cheers to any advice.

split quads and hamstrings into 2 separate days. start training single leg unilaterally till your injuries are gone then continue unilateral training with low reps and high weight as you progress. single leg squats and single leg straight leg deads are awesome exercises that will stabilize your joints and harden your core. pain free in a few months if you train smart and train around your injuries.
