Late night carbs

cheerios are bad because they are so processed and because of that they are high on th GI scale. Most don't want a insulin spike like that right before bed but every one is different. I know people that eat junk all day and up to right before they go to bed and don't have a problem. a slower release of carbs is better for controlling fat gain. Of course it comes to down to calories too.

Thanks guys

ill get some porridge (oatmeal) and try that. To be honest i havent been that bad since i posted avout the cheerios. Ive been having meat or peanuts instead, i know they are pretty ok

fat free cottage cheese and almonds is my choice, especially nights that i work (bartend), so some before to last that 3-4 span without eating, then some more right after we close, does the trick for me.

I'm diggin this Porridge word, I'm going to start calling Oatmeal Porridge! It sounds so cool!!!

I still believe we should look at this problem from a more hollistical point of view. Don't think the cheerios issue will solve the bigger problem.

Hi again

I bought some rolled oats from my local store. They were well cheap and when i did compare them to the box of cheerios i was surprised by the difference in carbs that sugar.

Im gonna eat a bowl of this stuff for breakfast, then at night if i feel the need.

Im getting the hang of this diet thing now.

IMHO, unless you are really a TRUE hardgainer, you don't need the oats before bed. However, if you train late night, nix the previous statement and replenish those stores. Stick with a slow release protein and some efa's.......
